hmm i basically had no side effects with the Clomid other than some slight dizziness...and then of course the eventual uterine lining thinning issue, but obviously couldn't feel that.

On just a single cycle of Femara, I again had some dizziness but I also got this really bizarre severe pain in one leg (near knee, almost like bone pain and no visible bruising) including swelling. RE didn't think it was caused by the Femara but couldn't rule it out (if it happens again next cycle then I'll know)...I iced and took Advil for a few days and it went away, but that also coincided with coming off the femara so who knows?

How have your side effects compared Jen?

I much prefer clomid to femara. Insane, I know, but I've had side effects with both.

Clomid I get mood swings mostly while taking the pills, and they are pretty quick and while annoying, they disappear fast enough. I also get loads of hot flashes and minor dizziness, but this isn't that awful. I never had any uterine lining issues and this time around didn't have any issues with cysts.

Femara I have been one GIANT mood swing since two days after my last pill. I spent most of yesterday sobbing for no reason, I just couldn't stop crying. I'm still dealing with the hot flashes and dizziness too, but whatever.

Hi Jen. Today is my first day of Clomid. I just took it about 10 mins. ago and I'm absolutely terrified. I've read so many awful things about the side effects some women have had. I'm hoping to be one of the lucky ones with few side effects. I'll let you know how it goes.

Isn't it amazing how such tiny little pills can make us so moody/emotional. I hope it gets better for you!

Good luck! try not to be too scared, it really isn't that bad for most people. The side effects are icky, but in my case most of them only lasted for a week, and they got more obvious with the higher dosages and with the number of cycles I had taken it increasing.

I did 2 cycles of 7.5 Letrozole (Generic Femara) and had no side effects that I noticed.
