Hey there! I just recently did my first round of IVF too, while I don't know a whole lot about PCOS, I will admit, 20 units sounds crazy high, I was only on 5 units once a day, I have no fertility problems and we were only dealing with male factor issues but I've honestly never heard of 20 units, I hear of 5 or 10 units, I would definitely question this because it sounds like they are doing a long lupron protocol on you which already has a tendency to surpress some people a bit more, but 20 units definitely seems excessive to me, I hope they get it figured out for you and that your successful!
I also went from Clomid + IUI straight to IVF, so I had no idea what my reactions would be to the injectable meds either. It can be a little scary! I was on BCPs for 2 months and then 10 units of Lupron, but I don't have PCOS, so they may just want to make sure you are adequately suppressed.
I did not do IVF at an MTF, but I am being seen at an MTF now for this pregnancy, and I know that sometimes they do get caught up in their processes and checklists. Sometimes you do become a number and not a name, so I would definitely ask and make sure they have considered all of your circumstances.
Good luck! I hope you see a BFP very soon!!
