This is the most my insurance will cover. I tried everything including a surgery, then 4 rounds of clomid, now I am on injections. I start tomorrow. Just looking for possible success stories or experiences?
I start tomorrow for 7 days taking 75iu/day of Puregon in injection form
Friday I start taking estrogen 2mg pills once a day until the end of the cycle or I am PG
I get an ultrasound checkup in a week from tomorrow
and on day 15 til the end of the cycle or continued if PG, I take 2 progesterone pills every night.
Anyone experience similar?

there are a bunch of girls here who have done injectables, so hopefully they will chime in with some advice.
I've not done injectables since tricare doesn't cover any meds once you move to IUI, so we've said if it comes to that we'd just go to IVF. I hope you guys have success with them!

I have Tricare.. they cover injectables 100%.. They just won't cover the physical process of IUI or IVF.. but there are some clinics that even cover all the basics like ultrasounds and meds except for the actual process.

Unless you are at an MTF that offers IUI or IVF, tricare won't even cover monitoring or meds once you move to IUI, unfortunately. The list of MTF's offering IUI is getting smaller, it's almost all now just the same ones that have IVF programs too. I've done the research on it and called tricare many times clarifying things, and having to fight to try and get coverage.

That fits with my experience as well...with my FET all my Meds were ordered from an online pharmacy. They didn't ask or care what procedures I did, and Tricare covered my 12 weeks of estrogen and progesterone injections without any questions. That was a huge help!!

We were told this too but when we got into walter reed they said that tricare shouldn't be asking if we are using the meds for iui or ivf. If you hand over the information then they can reject payment based on that but if you tell them that you are not giving that information then they cover it. I was iffy on it at first but a nurse at walter reed told me to tell them that they did not need to know that information and it worked. I only paid $5 for my Lupron and it was ordered from and outside pharmacy that has nothing to do with MTFs and was actually the one my RE was also using. My REs office told me that they could submit the ultrasounds and meds fine but that they would sent back a form asking if they were being used along with IVF or IUI and they had been checking yes and sending it back. At that point Tricare would refuse payment. The nurses at walter reed told us over and over again in terms of medication we did not need to tell them that information but to just be aware they wouldn't pay for the actual procedure. Sorry for hijacking this but this was very recent news to me and had to share.
I was told this several times, but had to seriously fight tricare on the stupidest stuff and never managed to get any of it covered. I really think they jack us all around so many times, I wish there was more clear policy on this. I'll definitely be more aware when we start over again with our new RE

Thanks everyone.. and I did have to fight with tricare, too. But, everyone else is right.. you dont have to be at a special facility, you just have to have doctors knowledgeable about how to report things to tricare.. because they should cover everything except for any procedures or lab fees associated with your husband's sperm.. so sperm washing, IUI, and IVF are not covered.. but the meds should be. I hope you can get someone who knows what they are doing. I had to jump through hoops just to get the coverage I have been having... and I had military doctors (when I had to renew my referral) pretty much tell me I was wasting the Army's money.. yeah, I get "if the Army wanted you to have a family they would have issued one"... but it is soooo annoying that they couldn't care less about our health care and reproductive health... However, I made an ICE complaint on the clinic and they gave me a referral no problem and then tricare has covered a surgery to remove cysts, 4 rounds of clomid, and now injections along with the pills.. I just hope this works because we PCS in a month and this is our last resort that is covered.
