Hello ladies-

I've been having mild ovary pain over the past couple days. It's not too bad but when DH and I BD it hurts pretty bad and it's starting to make me worry. I know that Clomid can cause ovary pain but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

My OB/GYN isn't doing ultrasounds (just checking progesterone levels a week after I O) so I don't think that she will check for cysts. Luckily, my father does ultrasounds on the heart and he can stick the probe over my ovaries and see if anything is going on. Only problem is he isn't a OB/GYN and doesn't know what to look at. I guess he could print off a picture of each ovary and I could take it to my doctor. It's nice to have an u/s machine in the family

Thanks for any advice!

Jen

I am sorry that you are having this problem. I have lots of cramps all throughout my cycles but I have pcos and a lot of mine come from me having that.
My doctor doesn't do ultrasounds either. All he does is check my progestrone. I would definitely get your father to do the ultrasound and take the pictures to your doctor if you are concerned. You have every right to get an explanation of whats going on!! Good Luck hun and I hope that you get some relief soon.

My dr doesn't do ultrasounds either, but he does what I refer to as an "ovary poke" where he does a modified pelvic to feel for cysts. It's my FAVORITE part of the visit!

I have the pains to. The first month I was on clomid I told my doctor's nurse and she said that if it didn't go away then they would do an ultasound. I told them I wanted one. They gave me one and found nothing. There was no cyst or anything that should be of concern. Now I just have them when I ovulate which I hear is normal.

Thanks ladies. I hope that I don't have cysts but I'll have my dad check them out today. I'll let you know what he finds or sees.

Well, he didn't see any cysts (but he doesn't really know what he's looking at down there). But I'm hoping if there were some that he would have picked them up. Let's keep hoping that it's just a side effect from the Clomid!

I have pain for around 5 days around O time with the Clomid. However I also have PCOS. If you are concerned, which it sounds like you are, I would talk to your doctor and ask about having at least one U/S to get your ovaries to see if they are being stimulated properly. I have had several U/S and they discovered a large cyst left from last cycle. Now I have to go in after AF starts and have it checked. They won't let me do another round of Clomid until it clears up because it could be potentially dangerous, so I would at least talk to your doctor about your concerns.
