HI! I used to post in here a LONG time ago. I have a question reguarding IVF. My brother and sister in law have been trying for a while, and haven't had any luck. They are now doing IUI, clomid, and a trigger shot. They have been doing this for multiple cycles. Now they are considering IVF because she is 35. Well my question is I thought I saw someone post about getting some type of assistance with the meds. If anyone knows about this could you please let me know. Thank you!
A lot of patients have leftover meds after their cycles, and some REs will take the extra meds back to donate to other patients who don't have insurance coverage. She should definitely ask her RE about it.
A lot of us also get our meds thru mail order pharmacies, like Freedom Fertility Pharmacy. They post all of their prices online, so tell her to shop around to get the best deal.
That's all I can think of off of the top of my head.
The one I know of that I will be calling is called "Compassionate care program" if you google that it should bring up a lot of information.
I was told, from a girl who did this program - through the same doc I'm going to - that it worked for her. But she also told me (and of course every doc is different) like KMH said to ask about donated meds. With mine, I know I will have to ask, as they won't just tell you about it.

When I did IVF we used the Kroger in our town. We were in Indianapolis at the time and the pharmacy there discounted the meds because they had a standing order with my Clinic. Our meds cost roughly $1600.00 I know the prices of meds have prolly gone up but I would def ask about donated meds and using online pharmacies. Also her RE may have a standing order with a local pharmacy as mine did. HTH!
Also always check Free Garage Sale under the medical section. People typically unload their leftover IVF meds after cancelled cycles or cycles where they have too much left over.
