I have PCOS and my gynecologist told me I could not have my Clomid this cycle because I had a huge cyst so I thought I had to sit this cycle out (Sad face). I made my first RE appt and had to change the appt date 3 times to accommodate my husband schedule so he could be there. As it turns out the RE's office called me and moved my appointment up to the first appointment of that day (bc the doctor had emergency surgery that evening) which was a problem because my husband was on call all night long and had to rush to get there! He was actually late & had to be shown to the room we were in! Any how, after talking to the doctor for a while he did a vaginal ultra sound and was surprised to see the cyst that was there that my gyno saw has went down and I had a big fat 18 mm egg!! Guess the Clomid from the month before hung around! So he said, "change of plans", and instead of giving me Provera to start my period he gave me a trigger shot of HCG to take the next day and instructed my husband and I to bd the next two days!! I walked in expecting to have to wait but instead found out it was ovulation time!!!!! So as it turns out my appt couldn't have been scheduled for a better day!! The timing was perfect!

Thank you! I sure hope it turns out to be a BFP! We've been trying for so long and its been a rough road. If it is a positive I'm going to ask the doc if he has a pic of my egg for the baby book! LoL

I start progestron suppositories tonight. Anyone know how long the HCG from the trigger shot will be in my sistem? I don't want to test and get a false positive.

Wait - shouldn't you wait till O to start the Progesterone? I'd call to ask to make sure.

Good luck and that is exciting you got dr ordered bding to do.

welcome and good luck!

you should wait 3-4 days post trigger before you start progesterone. the trigger metabolizes at around 1000 IU per day, so probably 10-11 days before you can test and have it not be trigger

My doctors appt was Friday and I took the trigger at about 7am on Saturday and was told to start the progesterone suppositories Monday night which is tonight. That's what's written on the paper they gave me. It's after 5pm so there is no one to answer the phones now bc the office phones are rolled to their answering service.

I was also instructed to bd on Saturday and Sunday. Guess we'll BD again for good measure. My husbands swimmer count is good He has been on hCG for months So that's finally fixed from the testosterone. Amazingly his doctor did not take him off testosterone just reduced it & added HCG.

Aw so nice when things works out to our advantage instead of the opposite!!

I don't normally start progesterone until 3dpo (so normally 4 or 5 days after my trigger).

HCG can hang around for quite a while. Many women test their trigger out and many just stay the hell away from tests until 12-14dpo!

Much luck to you! Hope you caught that egg!!!

I've read many places about starting the progestrone 2 to 3 days after ovulation. Don't know why my RE said start Monday!

This is the first positive thing (appt) I've had since I started on this baby making journey! Best way I can discribe it is trying to work hard to get something you really want but not getting a sign of hope or a glimmer of anything to show a light at the end if the tunnel. I know that sounds grim but getting a no month after month after month gets really old. I sure hope this is it but I'm afraid to get my hopes up.

Guess ill buy some cheap pregnancy dip sticks to use to test the HCG out.
Thinks for all the info!! You guys are awesome!

I know. It's just that I can't tell my friends. They just don't get it! I'm staying as positive as I can. Each month I keep starting over. My doctor actually wrote the icd9 code for "ovulation dysfunction" on my lab slip. That just sounds so horrible!! LoL Hope this is my month! ;0)

I was mistaken.. After the test sat a while there was still a very faint line. Just took another one today to see if its out of my system yet and there is still a very very faint line. So far its been 12 days sense i took the hcg shot. When my husband and I had sex the last few days I felt this sharp stabbing pain. I think it's my cervix. I don't know if the HCG caused cyst and maybe that's what I'm feeling. I've never had that kind of stabbing feeling during sex before!! My other thought is maybe the progestrone suppositories are irritating my cervix. I've even wondered if its gas cramps of all things!
