I don't even know how to start this post....and this is a classic example of the simplest answer is usually correct.

So i'm not 4w5d pregnant...i'm 7w6d pregnant (!!!) which means, yes, I did an entire cycle of fertility meds injections while already pregnant and i'm completely freaking out about it. It also completely explains the tremendously high hcg levels at the initial beta draw.

On the good news side, baby is measuring perfectly against my prior cycle's dates (likely conceived Jan 1) and had a hb of 174.

On the bad news side, there is a pool of blood next to the baby which explains the bleeding and RE said I can expect to continue to bleed for awhile based on the size of it.

RE is trying to reassure me he doesn't think the Menopur would harm the baby...i want to believe him, i'm so worried though i don't know what to think. RE has never seen anything like this either - I had a neg hpt 1 day before my period started (obviously not a period, but I bled for 4 days and heavily for a couple). RE is not discharging me at this point (normally he would after 7wk with a healthy hb) based on how bizarre the whole situation is & how i'm still bleeding. I go back for another u/s on Monday...if the dating & hb still look good he will discharge me then.

OMG!!! That's amazing!!! Congratulations!!!! Oh that's just so fantastic with the heartbeat! Are you staying on blood thinners with the bleed? Many, many pregnancies go on successfully like this. I have three beautiful babies that I bleed heavily with.

ohhh this has totally made my day!!! I'm so happy!! I just teared up a little lol.

Yay!!!

BTW - your RE is right, the drugs shouldn't cause too many issues, if any at all.

HOLY CRAP! that is pretty amazing! And - there are babies out there that are extremely resilient and I'm sure have gone through MUCH worse than a fertility drug...believe in your doc and have faith in him. Your baby is a miracle and I am so so so happy for you!!!!!!!

you ladies are so great...i think RE was upset at how upset/shellshocked i was, but all i could think was how i finally was pregnant and we may have screwed it up with these meds (and omg a IUI, they stuck it in my cervix while i was pregnant!)

Jen - yes, i stay on the Lovenox...it is likely that it's making the bleed worse & I didn't gross you guys out with the whole story from the big bleed Sat but lets just say it was SCARY. Blood thinners are no joke...

Melissa - so funny you say that, one of my friends just msg'd me with "way to shortcut your way through the 1st Trimester!" LOL it's got to be the only good thing about this...

I will say that if by some miracle this baby survives & doesn't have any damage from meds, or me not taking the Lovenox until REALLY late, it was definitely meant to be...I am just stunned by the odds it's already beaten.

Awesome news!!!!
I just wanted to comment on the pool of blood. I had bleeding at 9 weeks, 13 weeks and again at 16 weeks, the bleeding at 16 weeks was the heaviest and I thought for sure it was all over. Thankfully that bleeding at 16 weeks was the end of the pool. As hard as it is try to stay positive....BEST OF LUCK!!!!!

Just to add....I had what I thought was a period and found out the following week I was pregnant-I dont test positive on HPT....

Oh my gosh! This post makes me so freaking happy. I say you have one determined little bean in there who wants so badly to be your rainbow baby! And so freaking awesome you got to jump ahead 4 weeks!

Ok, so you had a negative test and then started bleeding the next day which you assumed was your period? That is so crazy! All the medicine stuff would worry me too but hopefully you can trust in your RE when he says it shouldn't harm the baby. Obviously the baby is still going strong after everything!

So what could be the cause of the bleed? How does one get a pool of blood?

HOLY Mother of GOD! This little soul you have in you is meant to be! This is the soul God wants you to take care of! YIPEE!

So amazing! Miracles do happen! Just when you think you’ve seen it all!

Maybe you can get a gig on that TLC program, “ I didn’t know I was pregnant”. Didn’t you say you’re IUI hurt too – no wonder – that cervix was closed for business!
