My RE told me today that I could either do it in my stomach or my leg but he recommended my leg because he thought it might be less scary for me to do it there.

Just curious what you all do ??

He showed me where on my leg to take it but if I choose to do stomach where should I do it?

Is there any difference at all if you take it in the leg vs stomach?

I do it in the bely fat, I feel it hurts less than the leg? Just pinch a bit either on the right or left of your belly button (staying about 1-2 inches away from the belly button).

Good luck!

Took my trigger shot in my belly which was a huge relief after where I had been taking all my IVF shots. I had to take all of those in the back of my arm bc my body wasn't absorbing them that good in my belly - once my RE had me switch to the back of the arm things went much better. It HURTS there so I was happy for trigger shot time and happy to do it in my tummy and not arm

It depends...it sounds like you have ovidrel, which is premixed and so you can do it in the leg or stomach, I've done that one in the stomach, like the other girls said, pinch some skin about an inch or two to the side of belly button and about 1 inch down...and aim like a dart - and do it quick - DON'T hesitate!

If you have the kind you mix yourself (powder and diluent) then in the booooty! I've done that one too, the stomach is much easier, IMO...I think I'd be afraid to hit muscle in the leg..

OH and let the alcohol dry first, it stings less if you wait a minute. GOOD LUCK!

^^^ Yes, it is Ovidrel, I don't mix anything (thank goodness - I would be afraid to mess it up).

Maybe I will do stomach because I for sure have fat for a cushion from having my 2 girls! Now that you say that Leah, I would prob do it right in to muscle on my leg.

i always did it in tummy, as girls said squeeze a bit of fat and it's not painful at all. My nurse told me to depress slowly & evenly counting to 5...it's scary first time but honestly a very easy shot to do.

Now when I had to mix stuff for Menopur LOL that's a whole different thing....I feel like I might have a calling as a nurse after that & these daily Lovenox shots

This time around the Dr always does it and does it in the back of my arm.
When I did my own in the past it was upper buttocks.

If it's 1ml of fluid or less, you can do it in your arm or stomach. If it's over that.. best to use a larger muscle like your quads or your butt.

If you use your leg or butt, bend the leg on the side your going to use.. it reduces the ability for the muscle to flinch instinctively and reduces pain.

I use my butt. Lots of cushion there.

mine is SQ in my belly....i have the most cushion there so it hurts....you can do it anywhere though...back of your arm, your leg, whatever..just squeeze the fat and keep the needle in for ~5 seconds
