We LOVE frosted flake baked chicken strips at my house and it's super easy!

Take your chicken and cut into strips - marinate in italian dressing for 1-2 hours
Pour Frosted Flakes Cereal in ziplock and crush - Drop Chicken in bag and coat
Place chicken on cookie sheet and Bake for 20 Mins
We love this recipe with corn and mashed potatoes

My kids babysitter made a really yummy dinner last night.....hers the recipe..it was soooo good, even my picky 3 yr old snarfed it down.

Ingredients: 1 can crescent rolls
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4cup butter, softened
2-3cups cooked and shredded chicken
1 egg
Crushed saltines
1 can cream of chicken
1/4cup milk
2 spoonfuls of sour cream
1/2cup shredded cheese
1 can corn

Preheat oven to 400F
Stir butter and cream cheese until smooth
Add shredded chicken, 1/4 of the corn, and 1/4 of the shredded cheese
Place a spoonful of creamy chicken mixture into center of crescent to fill, fold so none of it is showing (pillow)
In a small bowl put egg into into a little bit of water, dip pillow into egg, then roll in. CRushed saltines
Put on cookie sheet and bake for 17-20 minutes

While that cooks put cream of chicken and milk, the remaining corn, shredded cheese, and sour cream and heat that up...drizzle over pillows when they come out of the oven

Yum - those both sound good.

I made super easy meal last night. open faced roast beef sandwich and mashed potatoes.

I bought a pound of roast beef from the deli - heated it in a pan. Made mashed potatoes. Made sandwich with white bread and roast beef and poured brown gravy all over it including the mashed potatoes. Super yummy, pretty fast and easy. DH and DS loved it.

Lets get some more up here!

DH's favourite thing that I make is slow-cooker ribs!

I take a full rack of pork back-ribs and cut into sections small enough to fit in my slow cooker. Rub them with brown sugar and layer in the slow cooker with coarsley chopped onions. Mix 2 cans of Coke (not diet. That stuff will kill you. Especially when heated!) with about 4oz of dark rum and pour overtop of the ribs. Cook over low heat for about 6 hours. Take a cookie sheet and line with tinfoil, place a cooling rack on the cookie sheet and spray with pam. Put the ribs on the rack and brush both sides with your favourite BBQ sauce and bake at 375F for 20-25 minutes.

Simple, yet so delicious! Apparently I make the best ribs around

Mmmmmm, those ribs sound great! I'm thinking my DH would love them.

Here's another new favorite...Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf. It is so moist, and DH didn't even realize it was turkey

KMH - you think the receipt you posted will work with Cream of chicken soup insted of cream of mushroom? Maybe even Cream of Celery?
If I try and sneak a mushroom into anything DH acts like I am trying to kill him. He has eagle eyes when it comes to mushrooms. LOL

Gretchen, I think either one would work!

Oh, and I never seem to have pimentos on hand, so I use a can of green chiles instead, and it is delicious

I don't think DH even noticed when I starting subbing ground turkey or ground chicken for beef!

This is the best recipe I've used for chocolate cake (not mine obviously): Extreme Chocolate Cake Recipe - Allrecipes.com Doesn't get dry, and the icing is absolutely perfect. Not too sweet, and hey, chocolate is a good antioxidant, right?

Oh, does anyone have a recipe for sweet potato pie? I've never had it before, and I really want to try it! (Clearly I care more about dessert than dinner. This may be an issue.)

Welp we are vegan so I was trying to think what to post

Tamale Dough:

8 cups masa flour/ harnia
5 1/2 cups room temperature water
4 tsp sea salt
2 1/2 cups corn oil

Combine the above and kneed for 10 minutes and smooth.

Chile Black Bean tamale filling

5 cloves garlic, chopped
1 onion finely diced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 medium pimento or red pepper, finely chopped
2 medium poblano chiles roasted, peeled and chopped
6 plum tomatoes peeled and chopped
salt to taste
2 cups black beans

Saute onion and garlic 5 minutes and then add pimento, poblanos and tomatoes and cook stirring constantly. Cook until pimento is soft, add salt and remove from heat. Put the refried beans in a bowl.

Using a softened corn husk, spread about 1/4 cup of tamale dough up and out from teh base of the husk using the back of a soup spoon. Spoon 1 tbsp or so of tomato-chile mixture into the center of the masa, then place a spoonful of refried beans over the top. Fold over the corn husk wrappers and tie on each end. Steam for 1 hour.

Sometimes I make Mexican seasoned TVP and mix it into the chile mixture and omit the refried beans, which makes constructing the tamales a bit easier.

Oh man, everything looks so good! I can't wait to try these!

The frosted flake chix sounds like kinda one of my favs to make so I will def try that!

I LOVE stove top stuffing for some reason. So same kinda concept except I buy the chix tender strips then coat with sour cream (although lately I have been coating with greek yogurt for it to be healthier and you can't tell a difference) smash the stove top in ziplock bag and coat the chix. Drizzle with a little EVOO or sometimes I put little pats of butter on top then bake.

I would say you could totally sub any kind of creamed soup and it wouldn't make a huge difference.

Really, I can't wait to try all these! Lucy, my hubby loves mexican so he will be happy with this recipe.

I also make a lentil soup that is yummy and healthy. I will type it up if anyone has interest.

TVP (Textured Veg. Protein) :: Bob's Red Mill Natural Foods Normally can be found dried. Not a huge fan but it mixes things up and it's cheaper than the premade ground "beef".

I will sometimes use this filling in enchiladas because I am lazy! LOL! I LOVE tamales but hate making them!

ah, gotcha. Thanks! I've only ever used the "ground round" which I guess is kind of the same thing?

ETA: nm, I replied before I clicked on the link. Definitely not the same thing! I'm going to check it out though! Do you just soak it first, or do you just mix it in?

Easiest recipe ever and people will think you are amazing!

Kalua Pork (Hawaiian pig roast)

3 to 4lb pork shoulder or pork butt (Same cut, diff butchers label it differently)
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup hickory liquid smoke (look near bbq sauces)
4 tbsp chopped garlic (garlic powder will work too)

Add Pork to crockpot, add 1/4 cup soy sauce and 1/8 cup liquid smoke, and 2 tbsp garlic. Put the crock pot on low for 10 hours (if pork is frozen) 8 hours if thawed. Do not add any other liquid. Remove pork from crockpot, shred with two forks and remove any fat pieces. Add pork back to crockpot. Remove half of the liquid from crockpot (or enough that pork is barely covered by juices, and add the other 1/2 of the ingredients. Cook one more hour.

This is really good served over white rice. It also makes amazing tacos/burritos/nachos or enchilada casserole the second day. It freezes really well too. This is my dh favorite thing I make. We used to live in Hawaii and a friend gave me this recipe.

heehee

I soak it in broth and in this case, mexican seasonings too and then you can throw it in or fry it up.
Just a mock ground beef. I don't think the recipe needs it tho!
