and the verdict does not seem very good. I got the call today that I need to have a Colposcopy and Cervical Biopsy done. It is scheduled for March 28 @ 130PM... I have no idea what to think.

I have never had an abnormal pap and have only had 2 sexual partners in my life... DH and my high school boyfriend. High school boyfriend and I were virgins and DH had one sexual partner before me but they always used protection... So I do not think the abnormality could be HPV.

My doctor did say something about cancerous cells....

I am only 26 (almost 27).... and no cervical cancer or problems in my family. I guess we shall see what the procedure brings to light.. but have no idea how to tell DH or explain it to him as I have no idea myself. Can you medical professionals please help me? Has anyone else ever had this happen and everything end up ok?

I will know for sure if I am pregnant or not by then... but have no idea how to feel at this moment...

I had this about 8 or 9 years ago for abnormal cells. The more I talked about it the more I realized others had gone through it too. The procedure wasn't horrible but it wasn't fun either. Those results came back normal but I had to have a pap every three months for a few months for monitoring and then it went back to yearly. I have never had it happen again since.

Thanks I hope everything comes back great... I know this is just a follow up to abnormal results but dang... the language they use is so cold at times.

I went through this as well. It scared me too bc all was normal the previous year. But in the end it was just frequent testing like Lindz253 shared. Just make sure you let them know your preg status the day of. Good luck. KUP.

I had this happen 17 years ago too. They said "precancerous" cells, which totally scared me. I had cryosurgery to freeze and remove the cells and like Lindsey, I've had normal paps ever since and it never happened again.

I always wondered if I scarred bad from that and that is why we had trouble ttc. A friend did the LEEP procedure, instead of the cryo, and she had no issues ttc. I'm not trying to scare you, and it may not impact fertility at all, but if you have to do something to remove the cells, discuss your options with your Dr.

I was in the Navy, 19yo, didn't even think to ask any questions, I didn't know I had choices and just did as I was told re treatment

I have not been through this personally but my mom had this done a few years ago. She was told that she had precancerous cells as well. All of her tests have come back with good results so far. Good luck to you and I hope everything turns out good.

I also had an abnormal pap, but further testing showed nothing of concern.

FX that the same goes for you!

There are lots of women who have had one or two abnormal pap's and then after the advanced testing, everything was fine!

My best friend being one of them! Don't get too upset yet, and just take good care of yourself. I hope it's all done quickly and you won't have to worry anymore!!
