Been seeing a specialist for a few months now. We've tried two rounds of Femara and had tried 3 rounds of Clomid at increasing doses (50, 100, 150). Last month I had an HSG and it came back "text book normal" is what he said. That is the only good news we've gotten since trying to have a baby.

We've hit a wall when it comes to oral medications. They aren't working. And I don't O on my own. So the doc has suggested FOLLISTIM. My husband and I were uneasy about injections to begin with but we want a baby so badly right now.

My questions is: has anyone done this- Follistim, and any success stories????

to you all!

Just wondering are you planning to use it along with TI, IUI or IVF?

I only used it for IVF, my first cycle, and it wasn’t successful for me, but I think it’s more because I used micro dose HCG along with it, instead of Menupor

I don't know what TI stands for lol.. Im sorry.. The doctor said I would be going back for serial ultrasounds and bloodwork and then when I'm ready to O or the follicles look mature I'll get a final shot of HCG. No IUI or IVF

timed intercourse, which is what you are doing. I'm not familiar with using Follistim with timed intercourse, hopefully it’ll help you O!

The ONLY reason I have my Maiya is because of Follistim, I LOVE Follistim...it worked perfectly for me, I got 4 eggs, a beautiful lining, absolutely NO side effects (Clomid gave me no baby and bad side effects) and a BABY out of it...
My protocol and results were:
Follistim and IUI...CD2 start 125iu Follistim every night...
CD6, E2=87...
CD8, E2=213: L=10,8,8, R=10,8
CD10, E2=390: L=11,11,9, R=13.5, 11...Uterine lining=10
CD12, E2=984, L=14,15,11, R=14.5, 15...lining: 14.5
CD13, E2=1188, L=18,17,11, R=17.5, 17...lining: 14.3
trigger on CD13 @ 9pm...
IUI on CD15 @11am...thinking baby thoughts...
Progesterone >20 at 7DPO = hopefully a good ovulation...
BFP at 8DPO
HCG=29 at 10DPO
One of my friends from TTC#1 tried for a baby for 4 years, eventually, she did 3 round of Follistim, had a very early m/c on the second round, and then got her son out of the third round of it...
It is a true miracle worker - imo
PS-We did IUI, but could have done TI since my husband has no problems, just wanted to cover all bases

My current pregnancy was result of my first cycle on follistim...we opted to do timed intercourse instead of IUI (RE recommends IUI as they get better success results with that tho) and worked perfectly (even if we didn't figure it out until another cycle of meds lol ). Good luck to you!!

did femara or clomid for 12 months straight. did 2 feamara tablets plus follistim the last time, got pregnant first time with twins. had 4 follicles two days before trigger at 12, 13, 16 and 16 so after two more days plus trigger, 2 were ripe i guess and we are expecting babies in october. in addition 3 days post iui i started progesterone since the clomid had thinned my lining so bad from previous cycles. and im still on progesterone now at 10 weeks. so expensive but try going through metro drugs.

I used Puregon, which is the same as Follistim (just diffeent brand name).
I used it for 3 cycles with IUI, and never got pregnant.

I hope that you have better luck on it! I've heard some really good success stories when I researched it!

I've used follistim with IUI for both my kids, and for my current pregnancy as well. We have male factor issues and have to use donor sperm, so the issues usually haven't been with my ovulation or anything. I was given the choice between natural monitoring, clomid, and follistim... the doctor suggested follistim because it's easier to control the exact dosage, we can more exactly monitor the follicle growth and timing of the trigger, and has a higher success rate with IUI. I've had 2 babies that way, and hopefully this third will stick around too.
