Hi guys, looking for some input.
So i performed baseline bloods and ultrasound today.

I dont have the blood results yet, but I do have the US results.

My IVF clinic will get back me to me this afternoon to let me know if I start the stims or not.

In the meantime, I've been freaking myself out over the ultrasound results.

It seems I have a fibroid on my uterus measuring 21mm.
The conclusion of the US is this: "Uterine myoma (fibroid 21mm), probably adenomyosis.

This sounds terrible!!! I know Dr google is the worst thing on earth, but can this stop my IVF cycle? Is this serious?

I also have 11 follicles on my right 4 x 6mm, 3 x 4mm, 4 x 3mm.
On my left I have 8 follicles measuring 11mm, 2x 7mm, 2 x 6mm, 5mm and 2 x 4mm.

Any thoughts?

First of all...the antral follie count is great! That is a wonderful start!

The fibroid...well, it could go either way. Some doctors prefer to remove them before starting treatment, just to make sure that it doesn't cause any problems down the road. Depending on where it is located, other docs will just leave it alone as long as you aren't experiencing pain or any other symptoms. A study has shown it is not necessary to treat it before you conceive. (You can find the study here: http://humupd.oxfordjournals.org/content/18/4/374)

I know it is hard not to stress...I hope you get to talk to your doc asap to get some answers!

Thanks Melissa! I was hoping to have your feedback!

I sure hope we dont have to treat it first, especially as its not symptomatic.

I'm expecting a call from the doc any minute now. Hoping for good news!

I agree with Melissa - When will you find out what the doctor recommends?

Ok, so it seemed that my doc was aware of the fibroid, as it was already noted in an ultrasound I did last year.
He says its not an issue for the IVF cycle.

That last ultrasound showed an AFC of 11 follies on the right and 18 on the left.
In mt baseline ultrasound today, the tech noted that she could not properly view the left...so I could have more follies!

Sorry for the long post! The conclusion is that my IVF cycle is still on track, I start stims today, and I seem to have a great AFC!!!

Yay!

Thanks for the support ladies.
