Basically doing an FET cycle on my body becuase we are using donor egg. So today is CD3 had U/S and Bloodwork today. Still on Lupron and will continue. Started 2 pills a day of Estradiol and also a shot of Delestrogen every 3 days. The Delestrogen is in Oil and the needle was huge and it still hurts. boo! (total wuss I am)

Question is - did any of you use these two meds? I don't have any Estragen patches or anything like that that I hear you guys talk about. Mine seems to be in pill form and in the stupid Oil.

I go back in 5 days for linning check and more bloodwork. Donor starts her stims in 5 days too. So that would put here at CD8 when starting stims. Isn't that kinda late? She is on Lupron now. What are your thoughts about why her stims seem so late and that Delestrogen in Oil junk?

I'm not using a donor egg so I have no thoughts on that process all though just from going through the original IVF process to get my frozen embryos it does sound like that is kind of late for the donor to start stimming. But I could totally be missing something here.

On the meds - I take the Estradiol pills twice a day and wear a vivelle patch on my tummy for the first 5-7 days of the FET cycle. I start Progestrone in Oil shots approximately 6 days before my transfer. So I go today for another ultrasound and bw and if everything still looks good I will start my PIO shots tonight and have my transfer on 3/28.

I guess your Delestrogen is just a different form of the Vivelle patches. Do you know if you hae to start Progestrone in Oil shots before the transfer? I've seen some doctors use the Crinone vaginal suppositories instead of PIO Shots.

hum? I feel like that is late too. She is a proven donor so maybe the RE already knows how she Stims. I am going to call later to ask. She is on the lupron till stims so maybe they are waiting to make sure I get a headstart on my linning?

I do have PIO and Crinone both to take but not sure when I start them. I wish I had patches and I wish I could do the oral progesterone. I have panic attacks over these shots.

You'll have to let me know how your appoint goes and if you start your PIO tonight. Good luck. I hope we make it to Dec DDC.

Question is - did any of you use these two meds? I did not do Lupron, but I'm thinking that your doc is using it to get your cycle and the donors cycle lined up. I did do the Delestrogen shot every 3 days...my RE preferred it over oral meds or patches because you can get a more accurate measurement with bloodwork. I wasn't a big fan of the needle, either

I go back in 5 days for linning check and more bloodwork. Donor starts her stims in 5 days too. So that would put here at CD8 when starting stims. Isn't that kinda late? She is on Lupron now. When you are on Lupron, it basically shuts your system down. The ovaries are OFF. When she starts stims it will wake them up again and get them to produce all those nice, healthy, mature eggs that will get you your BFP. It doesn't matter if you wake them on Day 3 or Day 8 or Day 88. I guess that's a long way of saying that starting stims on Day 8 isn't a problem at all!

Hope that helps

Thanks Melissa - I was hoping you would respond. Is that needle for Delestrogen the same size as PIO? Do you know? I don't think I can handle much bigger.

Thanks, Melissa. Etsy is a dangerous place

Gretchen...I know different docs use different needles for the same drug, so I can't say for sure. For me, the PIO needle was slightly larger than the Delestrogen needle The good news about that is that on the nights when I had to do both shots, I'd do the PIO first...then the estrogen shot seemed super easy!

..... as long as it's worth it.

I can't imagine looking forward to this Delestrogen - haha! Praying I don't know the difference between PIO and Delestrogen. I am not even going to find out if that needle is bigger because if it is..... I will need vulium before that shot.

I was going to say the same as Melissa, as long as she is on Lupron, they can start her whenever, I'm sure they want you ready to go first! Best of luck Gretchen!

I know most donor's don't need to stim as long as most of us do since they have "normal" cycles and their bodies don't need as much time to produce those eggs

That is a good point Lauren.

I don't know if you guys remember but a few months back I was all freaked out and jealous about my husband's sperm fertilizing a donors egg in a dish. LOL

Now I feel like I can't get enough embies from DE. bahaha! Boy have I come a long way. Lash - that site you sent me a few months back really helped. It was another message board and it was all ladies trying or pregnant with DE. That really helped me too - I never posted there because I didn't want to cheat on you guys but I read for hours. Still do sometimes. Also your post on your blog when you and DH where contemplation DE.

I'm so glad it helped. I was mainly a lurker there as well but just read and read for months as much as I could, because it's truly an area of TTCMA that is a distinct area of emotions that some people can't always relate to until they've had to consider it or try it. We're of course even back in that boat, and we adopted, so I completely get considering becoming a parent without that full genetic connection.

I also relate 100% to the jealousy part of your husband and another egg mixing together. 100% get that.
