Hello Ladies~ I am super new here. I hope I am in the right area.

After trying for baby #1 for almost three years, one miscarriage, D&C, clomid for 7 seven months... we had success with an IUI #1. Whew, we were lucky. My husband and I have recently starting discussing when to have another kiddo. I was hoping to find someone that maybe is in the same boat. Do we go straight back to the fertility doctor? Do they make you wait it out for another year of trying?

I do not want to be on clomid for 6 months again Thanks for the insight Katherine

Most of the time, docs will let you go with what was successful last time...no waiting. You may have to repeat some basic bloodwork just to make sure everything looks "normal," but then you should be able to do another IUI if you wish.

Good luck!

Thanks! I was hoping that would be the case. Unexplained infertility usually isn't that easy

Ditto Melissa. You shouldnt have to wait another full year, as your 'infertility' is already documented.
(PS, I hate that word 'infertility', and I hate 'unexplained infertility' even more!)

Hi Welcome.

Was your IUI with an RE or OB? I think my DH would move out if I were on clomid for 7 months. We barely survived 3 months on it. lol

You shouldn't have to wait at all - same as Melissa said.

and wanted to say I am new to the world of TTC with MA but I would think if IUI is what worked before that the doctor would let you go back to that again. My DH would have probably moved out had I had to be on Clomid for 6months, we barely made it on the 4 months I took it. Good luck!!!!

Thanks Ladies. Yes, it was a RE. I wish I had a group like this back then...because I would NOT have stayed on clomid that long. I think my husband would move out TOO on the second go around for 6mon.
