Just wondering how long you stimmed for on your IVF cycle?

I really thought I would have my trigger on stim day 11, but it seems I may go all the way to 13 days of stimming.

Is this normal?

Also the internet is full of woman who apprently ovulated on their own whilst stimming (and still on Lupron)...so scared of this! Is this possible?

I am beginning to lose faith in my clinic, and feel like I'm getting a low standard of care.

Grace - you are just getting nervous now because you are in the middle of it all now. Hang in there.

I just had my u/s today. I have been on Lurpon now for 15 days. My ovaires are completely quite. No ovulating going on at all. I am starting to get sensitive down there now though like I would be if I was Oing. Even my u/s even hurt a little today and I asked about that - he said no your Ovaries are def quite your uterus is just a little sensitive becuase of all the estrogen.

Also he told me just today most women will trigger 10-13 days after starting Stims. I asked him this becuase DE is starting her stims today.

So I think you are going to be fine you are getting nervous though now for sure.

Thanks Gretchen. Yeah I'm really starting to lose it these days.

I have email contact with the nurses if Ihave any questions, but when I DO ask something, I'm getting short, one-lined answers as if I'm bothering them!

Today is 7 days of stimming with 250iu Gonal F.

Yesterday my leading follicle on both sides were 12mm.

Yet I got a call from the nurse to cancel my ultrasound and blood tomorrow (day 8 of stims), and instead reschedule them for 29 March (9 day of stims) and 02nd April (13 day of stim)

It just sounds like a REALLY long period to go unmonitored!

I am not expert but if you are only 12mm today then I agree the 29th for next u/s would be right. They can tell from your bloodwork too how close you are from Oing.

I would be annoyed too though if they are being short with you when you are asking questions when you call. Just be sure to tell them you understand they are busy but you have questions and you are spending a lot of money and just need a little help from someone answering questions. I am sure they don't realize they are being short with you. This is everyday for them -day in and day out - but for us it's not and we need our questions answered.

I stimmed for 13 days during my first cycle. I used menopur and gonal F but no Lupron. I know how frustrating it can be in the middle of your cycle to wonder what's going on especially when things don't go as originally planned or appointments get switched around. But so far I think everything sounds pretty normal. Well with the exception of short one line answers from the nurses. I'm sure that is super frustrating but just like Gretchen said they might just need a gentle reminder to be a little more helpful and if that doesn't work I would definitely discuss it with your RE

Ditto all the ladies above. I was a basketcase during my IVF cycle...I think it is normal.

I stimmed for 11 days if I remember right, but some stim for shorter and some longer...just depends on how fast your follies are growing. 13 days doesn't sound out of line at all.

Quit Googling and try and relax the best you can

My last IVF cycle, I stimmed for a long time. Started on Nov 19 & have my retrieval on Dec 4th. They will definitely monitor your LH to see when if you're close to ovulation. When I was on Lupron, it suppressed my whole system down A LOT!

Good luck!

Thanks guys. Again, sorry for being so dramatic!

I'm still really frustrated with the way this clinic is giving information.
If it hasn't been for my own research and advice from you on JM I'd be so lost.

I'm at a point where I'd rather not ask any more questions for the fear of annoying the nurses. That shouldn't be my priority during this time!

Anyway, thanks again for the reassurances.

You guys are the best!

It's okay honey!!! So much is going on, there ARE a lot of questions to ask! I've called twice already and emailed once!

I stimmed 10 days on my first cycle, which, personally, I thought was too short. My leads were only 17mm.

They generally will trigger you when your two lead follicles are 18mm in size, you are at 12, so it's okay to wait to go back in again. Follicles grow (give or take) about 2mm a day, so I think you are right on track!

It's hard not to scrutinize everything and worry, but we're here for you to help you out!!!

Thanks Leah. This is exactly my worry.
With follies growing at 2 mm a day, I'm looking at the leading follies reaching 18mm by Friday, 29th. It seems that I may only get to trigger on Tuesday, 2nd April!

I'm just hoping I don't ovulate on my own before that.

Hang in there Grace! I only stimmed for 9 days but I think they had me on to high of doses of Menopur and made the follies grow fast. They never told me the sizes on the follies so not sure where they were when I triggered.

Don't let your clinic make you feel like a bother, like Gretchen said call them and remind them how much money you're spending.

Good Luck!

why do you think you have to wait until Tues to trigger? If you are at lots of 18s on friday, they might trigger you that night. I bet ovulating on lupron is very very rare. Maybe that girl missed a shot or something. You're so close!!!

I honestly think they're pushing for Tuesday to trigger due to the Easter public holidays.
If thats the case, I'm going to be a raging lunatic!

Just hope that tomorrows bloods and ultrasound show that the follies are nowhere near 18mm yet.

My monitoring yesterday showed leading follie on the left at 18mm. There are many others ranging from 6mm to 17mm.

I'm triggering on Monday, 1st April with retrieval scheduled for Wednesday, 3rd!

I still think its too late, I feel like the retirieval should ideally be on Tuesday...but the nurse assured me I will not ovulate on Lupron.

I think they are waiting another day to let the other follies catch up...they may sacrifice that first lead follie, but in the end you will have more mature if they let the others catch up. I know you're worried about ovulating on your own, but I've never heard of anyone ovulating early (I used to be on another IVF board when I did it before, and there were lots of ladies there, none of them O'd early). I know it's hard not to worry, but it will be okay!!

We ARE a day apart, yay!!!!
