You'll be around 3 hours from Dallas, but I am about 6 hours from my RE. There are good RE's in Dallas, but they won't take on a high FSH client or they don't specialize in it, so we go all the way down there.

Lubbock also has a program but their SART data hasn't been reported yet since they are pretty new. They would be around 2 hours or so from you.

There are three major areas in the US that are "super centers" for the best RE's and the southwest is one of them, including Dallas and Houston. The others are Oregon/Washington who consistently rank as the highest SART outcomes and then the Northeast, New Jersey, Cornell University Program, and a few others. So you'll have to drive, but Dallas has some really good options

Age: 33
Do you have any children? Angel or otherwise? Claire (2.5), George (7 months), and Abigail (7 months)

How long have you been TTCing: We prevented until July 2007

Where are you at in your journey (waiting, IUIs, IVF): Right now we are preventing...yes, I know that sounds so ridiculous. I had some pretty bad uterine trauma (had to scrape out placenta with metal tool ) when the twins were born, so I was advised to wait at least 6 months but preferably a year before getting pregnant again...especially if I want another VBAC. I think our family might be complete, but I'm having trouble letting go of the idea of trying again naturally for a while once I am healed. We also have 3 frosties. I don't know...I guess I don't have to know right now.

Would you like to share how you got to this point in your journey? Started TTC in July 2007. I had been waiting on DH to be "ready" so when we started, we really started...OPKs, we were both on vitamins, etc. to make sure it happened asap. Ha ha After a year I had basic testing done at my OB, had the HSG, and DH had an SA. Everything was perfect. Over the next year we did 3 natural IUIs, 3 IUIs with Clomid and trigger, I had a lap, DH had more specialized SAs...the only red flag was a failed post-coital test (done before any meds).

In October 2009 we started our fresh IVF cycle. 15 eggs retrieved, 13 mature. 5/5 fertilized naturally, 6/8 fertilized with ICSI. 2 embryos transferred on Day 5 and 5 frozen on Day 6. Due to low betas I was told the resulting pregnancy was not viable, but our little "Pokey" defied the odds

In January 2012 we did our first FET cycle. Transferred 2 frosties. Initial u/s showed one sac smaller than it should be and the pregnancy was deemed a "threatened miscarriage." Another u/s 9 days later showed 2 sacs and 2 heartbeats. After a fairly rocky pregnancy, George and Abigail were born (VBAC!) at 33w1d...perfectly healthy, just small. We spent 4 weeks in the NICU. They are now 7 months old.

Anything else you would like to share? I never, ever, EVER would have made it without my TTCMA family

Age: 47
Do you have any children? Angel or otherwise? I have a 13 yo dd, and an 11 yo ds from my first marriage. Was one of those twits that conceived just by breathing funny (when I was 19). Could not have ever imagined I'd ever have this much trouble a dozen years later. Tom does not have any biological children

How long have you been TTCing: Four years on May 9 (minus one four month break in end of 2011-12)

Where are you at in your journey (waiting, IUIs, IVF): Waiting for six weeks before we get to it again. Very impatient as I finally actually got a bfp. Just want to move on after my loss.

Would you like to share how you got to this point in your journey?

2009 - go off of birth control, start charting, got blessing from first dr. Gave up frustrated with charting, was sure I was doing it wrong because it said I never ovulate!

2010 - First dr says perfect candidate for PCOS. So, lost 55 pounds to try to make my body have regular cycles. NOTHING changed, dr thought it would help.

2011 - Really start obsessing over charting, and timing, and little things, trying to get everything right. End of year, before holidays start a break bcs it was causing marriage stress.

2012 - around march start ttc again. Make dr appt with second dr. She starts blood testing. Says not PCOS. Refers me to fertility specialist out of town. More testing, and HSG. Specialist starts me on provera to get cycles, and clomid for ovulation.

2013 - Specialist says clomid isn't working, but my charts are great for the first time ever!! Second cycle on clomid, get our very first bfp on Feb 8!!!
Get heartbeat at 6.5 weeks on ultrasound, again at 8 weeks.
10 weeks pregnant at ultrasound, no more heartbeat, no more baby. D&C in end of March. Need to wait six weeks to see if I get a cycle to try again.

Anything else you would like to share?
I always share too much lol I'm an open book kind of person.
I'm an atheist and a liberal, but I could care less what religion or political leanings you have. I'm open minded and most of my friends and family don't agree with me on politics or religion. I still love them all.
I LOVE a good debate, and enjoy when friends can debate with me and stay pals. Really miss the days of the old debate board and political boards here. Made a lot of longtime friends on this one, and another debate board.
I'm a dog person. I love to crochet!! (if anyone is on ravelry, look me up there, I'm smsturner everywhere lol)
Spaghetti is my favorite, I NEED pepsi and chocolate. I am a super geek, right down to xfiles, browncoats, the lone gunman and superhero movies. I wish I'd taken every piece of advice my mother had ever given me.

At the risk of sounding like a copycat, This board really is amazing. I can't believe how much more I know about TTC than I did before I starting posting.
When I first started ttc, it was about when I signed up here and on a couple of other boards. Before that I didn't even know what forums were lol I played on the fun boards and a little on ttc, but I was just wasn't really ready to talk about this. I'm so so so glad I opened up to you ladies and starting talking here. It gave me support I didn't know I needed, and friends I love dearly. Thank you for letting me squeal, cry, whine and ask stupid questions, and STILL make me feel cared about and supported! You are the most amazing women.

Anything else you would like to share? I am just about the end of my road for TTC and having a baby. Lord willing this IVF will work. I am hoping to start somekind of local support group for TTC. We have two clinics in my area and tons of issues going on but I have never been able to find a support group other than JM. My future goal is to bring awareness to infertility and the unfair cost and support others that are going through it.
You are such a great person. You would be amazing to help this way I think you'd be great at it!

Guess I should answer too

Name (user & real): Lucy and here's a not well kept secret- my real name is Kimberly. I don't like it tho and a few years ago when joining derby started going by Lucy. My parents don;t want me to change it tho and guilt me... But someday!
Age: Just turned 36yo

SO/DH: Richard.. I call him poodle because I think it's hilarious
Age: Will be 40 this summer
Do you have any children? Angel or otherwise? I have 2 boys (8yo & 12yo) and angels.

How long have you been TTCing: 20 cycles this time around... Adding all three times together, 5+years (obviously vastly different than suffering that consecutively).

Where are you at in your journey (waiting, IUIs, IVF):
Doing IUI with meds- would be inj but I respond well to oral.
If this cycle doesn't work I am moving onto a good RE and see what they say.

Would you like to share how you got to this point in your journey?
Insanity? I remarried last year but we started TTC before that. I have always had to TTCMA but held off hoping a different DH would hold hope of doing it on our own Turns out it's entirely different. Now I O really well but new DH has borderline MFI issues. Go figure.
I think I have had 6 or 7 IUIs this time... Sadly I don't remember. I will have to get my records for the new clinic so I plan on finding out for sure then obviously.

Anything else you would like to share?
I am crazy and dorky and in love with the women on this board who have the largest hearts ever.

Yes! Two of them The one next to me in the pic is my baby Gulley he's almost 5. He's loyal to the core and is such a momma's boy. The one next to my DH is our princess Ripley. She's 3 and is a spoiled rotten independent daddy's girl princess. We planned to get a dog when we got Rip but Gulley on the other hand was adopted because we were facing infertility and I needed to fill that hole. He has more than played his role in my life.

How long have you been TTCing: Waiting to start cycle 11

Where are you at in your journey (waiting, IUIs, IVF): taking Provera waiting for AF

Would you like to share how you got to this point in your journey? I thought getting pregnant would be easy since I was on the pill when I got pregnant with our DD and before the pill I had been on the depo shot 5 years.Tried naturally from May 2012 until Feb and March when we added 50 mg Clomid. It did not work so my doctor gave me 100 mg to start on CD 3 with metformin the whole month. My progesterone was 0.1.

Anything else you would like to share? I dont post a lot, but I read a lot. You ladies are so nice and helpful. Reading some of your roads to BFPs is inspiring.

Do you have any children? Angel or otherwise? DS will be 23 in May; DD is 20

How long have you been TTCing: 17 cycles/months (soon to be 18 in April)

Where are you at in your journey (waiting, IUIs, IVF): in the 2WW but have a feeling I am out

Would you like to share how you got to this point in your journey? Pat and I got married on May 13, 2010. He doesn't have any biological children. He and is 1st wife had 4 miscarriages and adopted 4 older children (aged from 9-14 at the time, the oldest is 31 now and the others are all in their 20's).

Pat told me that he didn't want any children but throughout the 1st year of our marriage he kept asking me if I wanted to have his baby and every time he asked I said yes. I had my tubes tied after my I delivered my daughter so I had a tubal reversal on Sept 30, 2011. The dr told us to wait 2 cycles before ttc but we went ahead and started in OCt 2011.

My dr told me to use OPK's and I never got a positive on them from Oct through March. So I called my dr and asked to be put on Clomid. I wasn't monitored during the 3 cycles that I took it. After I found this board, I learned that I should have been taking my OPK's at different times of the day not just during the morning!

I started temping and charting in Jan of this year and I am very excited to see that I do O!! When we had our work up prior to my tubal reversal everything for me was fine but my DH's SA showed that he had low motility I have tried to get him to take Motility Boost or other vitamins/herbs but I can't seem to talk him into it

I went to my dr in Jan because we had been trying for over a year and not having any success in getting pregnant. He scheduled me for an HSG to see if my tubes were blocked. They weren't but it showed that I had a polyp that was blocking my cervix and acting like an IUD. So I had a sonohysterogram in Feb that showed that I did have a polyp but it was nowhere near my cervix and wasn't blocking it after all.

My dr told me that he wanted to monitor for me for 3 cycles before moving on to IUI's. Well I was monitored in Feb but when I was going to get my u/s done this cycle they told us we owed them $881 and the u/s would cost $255 and they wanted us to pay all of that when I went in so my DH had me cancel my appt because we didn't have that money....so we are just stuck ttc on our own and I am afraid that it just won't happen without more medical assistance besides taking Clomid

I also had my Progesterone levels checked last month/cycle and it showed that it was low so I now take Progesterone suppositories.

In all these months of ttc I have yet to get a BFP I hate that it was soo easy for me to get pg with my two older kids but now it is soo hard. I know that I am lucky to have my kids but I really want to have one with my DH. I just know he would be a great daddy

Anything else you would like to share? I am in college full time getting my Early Childhood degree sometimes I think the stress of going to school, doing homework, and interning puts a lot of stress on me. Then my DH is the only one working right now and I think that causes stress on him because he worries about how we are going to get all of our bills paid. I hate it that insurance doesn't cover infertility tests and treatments!! I also hate that we owe over $2,000 to the dr and hospital for the HSG and sonohysterogram

Sorry this turned into a book

Do you have any children? Angel or otherwise? 0 children, but 1 spoiled dog!

How long have you been TTCing: 1 1/2 years

Where are you at in your journey (waiting, IUIs, IVF): Positive OPK today so 2ww now... (gotta make DH hide those digi tests so I don't use them in the next few days!)

Would you like to share how you got to this point in your journey? I had about a year on metformin before starting Clomid for 6 of my 7 last cycles. This is the second Clomid cycle that has ended with my having a large cyst though :-(. Today I got my first positive OPK though so hoping that is good. Planning on trying Femara next if this cycle doesn't pan out but will have to wait at least 1 cycle to monitor the cyst and make sure it disapears like it should.

Anything else you would like to share? I never realized how hard this journey was going to be and I don't know how I would do it without this board and all of the wonderful ladies on here. I don't always post a lot, but just coming here and reading about others and hearing their journeys is so helpful.

They haven't really said a whole lot. My son is married (he celebrated his 1 yr ann in Nov). My DD has just recently started saying that we are crazy for wanting a baby but I think it is because she has heard it from other people! I think that if it ever happens she will change her mind
