Children: We had 1 m/c in April 2012. We have 5 fur babies -2 dogs 3 cats.
How long have you been TTC? We were not preventing until the m/c. We have been trying ever since.
Where are we at: We are starting round 2 of clomid and have our first RE appointment on May 9.

This has been the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I am forever thankful to you ladies. Y'all have taught me so much. I am still very confused. :/ I realize that I m still early in this process, but I have so very many questions.

On a non TTC note, I love pink and polka dots!!!! I love PJs! I can't wait until Spring. I have recently decided that I want to learn to hula hoop.

Do you have any children? Angel or otherwise? One 14 DS

How long have you been TTCing: 2.5 years 10 years before that but DH wasn't ready.

Where are you at in your journey (waiting, IUIs, IVF): IVF - Hopefully I am pregnant 2 weeks from now!

Would you like to share how you got to this point in your journey? Always thought I had plenty of time to have more kids. DH is younger then me and he wasn't ready to try until I was 40. Ended up with MFI and my aging eggs. I have never seen a BFP. With my DS I was 6 weeks pregnant when I went for yearly check up and didn't realize it. They did bloodwork there becuase i couldn't remember when my last period was. That was a long time ago - I wanted more kids after the moment I laid eyes on him after birth.

Anything else you would like to share? I am just about the end of my road for TTC and having a baby. Lord willing this IVF will work. I am hoping to start somekind of local support group for TTC. We have two clinics in my area and tons of issues going on but I have never been able to find a support group other than JM. My future goal is to bring awareness to infertility and the unfair cost and support others that are going through it.

Do you have any children? Angel or otherwise? DS 4 yrs old also named Russell (he is the fourth)

How long have you been TTCing: Since October 2011, once DH got the all clear from his doctors that we were able to get back at it again (post testicular cancer with 2 surgeries and 3 cycles of chemo)

Where are you at in your journey (waiting, IUIs, IVF): We are waiting for next Friday, April 5th to come up with a game plan. I'm thinking though that we are going to try IUI first through

Would you like to share how you got to this point in your journey? Well, I finally gave in and figured that there had to be an explanation as to why we weren't pregnant yet. So I lost weight and took Clomid. Once I realized that doing that didn't seem to make a difference, finally decided that DH probably needed to get checked out.

Anything else you would like to share? Just what a life saver you wonderful women are. I am so new to TTC with MA and such uncharted waters for me. I appreciate your encouragement, support, understanding, and patience with me. That I never thought it would be so hard to get pregnant.

Gretchen...I keep telling my DH that I wish I could start a charity to raise money to bring awareness to infertility & give money to people who can't afford IVF. I don't know where to start, but I guess the starting point is research and advertisement. It would be so great to help couples who want to build families and the only thing holding them back is the cost of IVF.

Do you have any children? Angel or otherwise? 2 stepkids- E is 16, B is 14 | multiple angel babies from early losses

How long have you been TTCing: started NTNP in 06, started TTC in 07

Where are you at in your journey (waiting, IUIs, IVF): currently on an MA hold

Would you like to share how you got to this point in your journey? DX with endo and PCOS in 2007, we did 3 clomid cycles in 07/08. at that point the urologist told us our odds of even doing IUI were next to ridiculous. we kept on ttc on our own until spring 2011 and then moved to donor sperm after contacting a urologist and being given a less than 1% chance of pregnancy on our own and not having had any real successes so far. We did 3 donor IUI cycles in 2011 and 2012- 2 clomid, 1 femara, all 3 ending in miscarriages, one being an ectopic. At that point we moved cross country again and put MA on hold until we get settled. We've been in our new location 6 months next week and had 2 m/c in that time.

Anything else you would like to share? TTC sucks. but the friends I have made here are amazing.

Do you have any children? Angel or otherwise? Two girls. Ava, almost 3 and Olivia, 15 months. We lost a baby between the girls.

How long have you been TTCing: NPP since November 2012 but had my first PP cycle start in Feb so that is when we actively started trying.

Where are you at in your journey (waiting, IUIs, IVF): CD 49 and I never ovulated. Two more day of provera to take and once AF comes on I will be doing a round of clomid.

Would you like to share how you got to this point in your journey? We STC for 2 years to get our first child. I have PCOS and very rarely ovulated on my own. DD#1 was conceived after 2 years and 3 rounds of clomd. After she was born it seemed by body decided to work right and I was ovulating beautifully on my own and we got pregnant with DD#2 easily. Now it seems I am back to where I started.

Anything else you would like to share? I can't wait for this cycle to end! Come on AF!

Do you have any children? Angel or otherwise? 1 loss at 4wk 6d

How long have you been TTCing: It will be 3 years total in May, with one year MA
Where are you at in your journey (waiting, IUIs, IVF): I am in the TWW, if i dont get my BFP this cycle, I have an appt with my Dr. to talk about "next steps"

Would you like to share how you got to this point in your journey? After 2 years of ttc on our own, we visited with my OB and she started my "work up". I received the awesome dx of "unknown infertility". After 3 failed rounds of clomid 50mg, wejust finished my 1st round of 100mg clomid. Even though I never thought we would be going down this road, I can honestly say it has made my relationship with Rob stronger than I had ever imagined. He is an amazing husband.

Anything else you would like to share?
I am so blessed to be going through this journey with all of you. I have come to consider a lot of you close friends of mine. Even a lot of my IRL friends dont know the details and gave me the support you ladies have, and for that I thank you.

Do you have any children? Angel or otherwise? Mallory is our IVF baby...conceived at almost the 4 year mark of ttc....my angelversary will be 5/15 this year...one year ago tomorrow, I got those beautiful pink lines. The only natural bfp I've seen in over 60 cycles....

How long have you been TTCing: almost 4 years for Mallory and this time is 18 months

Where are you at in your journey (waiting, IUIs, IVF): IVF!! Retrieval is set for TUESDAY!! 4/2...I had 9 eggies today at my u/s...hoping they all continue to grow and do well! Trigger sunday night SO EXCITED

Would you like to share how you got to this point in your journey? We ttc for around 2 years, then we tried acupuncture and IUI's - 5 of them, all bfn....tried supplements for DH. We were labeled unexplained IF, but DH had varying S/As...some were 115 million and some were 20 million. Forward progression was sometimes an issue. IVF#1 gave us our sweetiepie....hoping #2 does as well.

Anything else you would like to share? I really appreciate this board and I know I wouldn't have gotten through this without message boards.

random tidbits: I'm double jointed, I'm obsessed with Chipotle, I'm sick of this snow and can't wait for warm weather, I love to crochet, Castle, Big Bang Theory and Shameless are my favorite tv shows, we own a car wash and I never wash my car (I am always in a hurry!!), I used to be addicted to starbursts, I check JM at least 5 times a day haha!

I feel that helping some IRL friends and ladies here through issues with IF, answering their questions, giving advice of next steps they should take, etc.... that it has given me a "reason" or "purpose" behind some of our IF, at least I am able to help others, lend an ear or information in their struggle. Two of them just had babies a couple weeks ago.

Do you have any children? Angel or otherwise? one son 15 years old and Angel April 2012

How long have you been TTCing: NTNP since 2009 actively 2011

Where are you at in your journey (waiting, IUIs, IVF): hopefully pregnant now , in TWW from an FET

Would you like to share how you got to this point in your journey? We got caught up in trying to wait for the “perfect” time to have a second child. You know graduate college, then post grad, then establishing a successful career with a good income, nice house…all the things that don’t seem to matter anymore…but who knew by the time we got to the “perfect” time, my eggs would be too old. After several years of NTNP and TTC, we finally sought RE attention, I was 39 and went straight to IVF.

Anything else you would like to share? I have crazy work hours, so there are times when I’m on here all day long and other times where I don’t post for a couple of days, usually all due to work. I tend to be a little quit on the main board, since I jumped straight to IVF I don’t have experience in other forms of medical assistance to share information on, but I try to be supportive and a cheerleader when I can. And I’m truly grateful for all you ladies and the information and support you show me and the others here!

While I'm not very active here I was at one time during my first IVF cycle. I still check in and read everyone's stories both new and old and sometimes post. So I hope you don't mind me posting this. I just thought I would share so people know who I am.

Do you have any children? Angel or otherwise? I have a 7 year old step-son. Twins on the way.

How long have you been TTCing: We are currently expecting twins but we were TTC from Oct 2010 to Sept 2012 before our 2nd IVF worked.

Where are you at in your journey (waiting, IUIs, IVF): currently pregnant with IVF twins

Would you like to share how you got to this point in your journey? We started "trying" or NTNP as soon as we were married in Oct 2010. We were really more on the trying side as we really did want it to happen then but we just weren't putting a label on it. By August 2011 I was dx with PCOS. We never thought to check DH since he had a son. 4 rounds of Clomid, HSG test, lap to remove cyst and endo. then we found out that DH has low motility, low count and 0% morphology. Our only chance with his sperm is IVF with ICSI. We jumped right into that right away. Did our first cycle July 2012. That failed. Second cycle in Sept/October 2012 and we are now expecting our twins. During IVF we found out that my eggs do not mature like normal even though my hormone levels were good. I did produce more with a med change but still had very few that were mature. Out of 14 embryos only 3 ended up being a decent quality. Two are our twins and one is frozen.

Anything else you would like to share? I know I'm not currently TTCing but I know we will again one day. I read others stories and when I have advice or can offer some sort of support from my experience I will post. I hope you ladies don't mind

I'd love to PM back and forth with you more about DOR and what it's like to let go of a biological connection, and the desire to carry a pregnancy even if it's not your eggs. It's a totally different mind space than most people ever have to get "in to" and I've walked almost all of that path except donor eggs (which we may do now as well at some point if it doesn't all work out with my eggs).

I just copied the timeline off my blog instead of typing it out again

March 2008- Start trying for a baby
April 2008- Pregnant, miscarry after 5 days.
Continue trying with no pregnancy for the rest of 2008
Early pregnancy and loss again in 2009
Seek out an RE in Dallas, Dr Douglas, in early 2009
Begin basic testing, normal bloodwork
Respond to Clomid 50mg fantastically
Fail the Post Coital Test. Big Surprise, Clomid damages Cervical Mucous.
TIP #1- REFUSE THE POSTCOITAL TEST. Waste of money!!! You'll almost always fail this test when you are on a medication that completely screws up your cervical fluid.
Dial down Clomid to 25 Mg, Produce 3 Follies, Ovulate all 3, Failed IUI
May 2009, HSG. Twisted Tubes, Polyps, Septum
June 2009, Remove Polyps and Septum, find Endometrosis, and 3rd Fallopian tube, called a Fallopian Tube Duplication
Continue trying on our own, no pregnancy
Feb 2010, Cycle lasts until 23 days past ovulation, never get a "real" positive on Pregnancy Test. Beta is under 2
Take 2010 off. Re cooperate. Become normal again.
2011:Start back up into this whole game with new RE, Dr Guerami in Frisco. At 28, we assume we have massive amounts of time left.
January 2011 testing comes back with an FSH of 33 and AMH of .29
In June 2009, FSH was completely normal. No signs that this would occur
Continue to appear to be ovulating according to temping and LH tests. Regular Periods. No signs of Premature Ovarian Failure.
Karyotyping and Fragile X come back normal.
Throw myself into day and night research and live on MD Consult for information.

Given 6 months to a year to conceive our own child. Start thinking Donor eggs. Find peace with this decision relatively quickly. Reasons documented in blog. Decide to try IVF at least once due to age. Age is the primary factor for egg quality, even with wonky hormones. Figured I'd regret never trying with my own eggs, but fairly at peace with using Donor Eggs. Not at peace or totally confident in my own bodies ability to carry a child, donor or own.

March 2011, attend SIRM Seminar in Dallas with Dr. Sher and Dr. Saleh. Interesting info, good sales pitch.

March 2011, Meet with Dr Saleh, and despite the fact that he will work with my FSH and history, it just doesn't feel like it's for me.

Find Dr Gill at HFI in Houston, as referred by a fellow High FSH'er on Network54, a fantastic resource for anyone facing Diminished Ovarian Reserve. Fantastic. They know their stuff.

April 2011- Meet Dr Gill at HFI, and we decide to proceed with their team. Dr Gill is especially helpful, and faced High FSH with his own wife. They went to IVF Egg Retrieval with only 2 follicles. He gets it. He's lived it. He didn't patronize me with The Donor Egg Speech, nor did he repeat the "we are born with all the eggs we'll ever have" speech.

May 2011- Complete Blood Work. Dr Gill asks ME what I've found in research when it comes to IVF protocol and asks which ones I feel most comfortable attempting. He is not asking for me to make the final decision, but is interested in what I prefer and why, and takes this into account.

Decide on Antagonist Protocol. Menopur/Follistim with Ganirelix.

June 2011- Repeat the LAP to see if there are crazy polyps or tumors and Tubal Cannulation to check for Hydrosalpinx. None found. Uterus looks good.

June 2011- Start Low does Desogen, estrogen based Birth Control. Stay on for 6 weeks to pull down and regulate FSH.
June 20, 2011. Stop BCP. IVF IS A GO. 300 Menopur/300 Follistim a night.

Stim until we triggered Tues July 5th. Saw around 10 Follicles total in the end, but all were not mature. Highest Estradiol was 1718, so we knew only around 8 of those were mature.

Retrieved 7 eggs on July 7th.Fertilized 4, using ICSI.
3 Transferred on a 3 Day Transfer, July 10th. A perfect 8 cell, Small Fragmented 7 cell and a slower growing 5 cell that seems to have stalled out but "we might as well use instead of leaving it in the lab".

No embryo's are left for vitrification, this is an all or nothing thing now! If this doesn't work, we either have to be completely done or start over on a brand new cycle.

It's all over after a chemical pregnancy. We are done trying any fertility methods and are ready to move to adoption when it finally feels right.

We move to adoption in August 2011.

Bring home baby girl August born June 25th 2012. I am the first to hold her and was in the delivery room. Adoption disrupted 12 days later. Devastated.

Find out we are pregnant the next day, Rhiannon is born March 4th 2013, stillborn at 39 weeks from cord compression.

Name (user & real): Whiskey/Jen
Age: 33

SO/DH: Troy
Age: 32
Do you have any children? Angel or otherwise? I have three living, two boys 11 & 7, a girl 4. DH has two, a girl 10 and a boy 5. Brady Bunch. We have one baby girl born too soon and we're trying for our first take home baby. I have had more early losses than I care to mention.

How long have you been TTCing: 2 years

Where are you at in your journey (waiting, IUIs, IVF): Waiting-ish. DH has poor sperm. He's currently on 25mg clomid for 25 days. When he gets back from Texas in June we're going to do three more clomid/trigger cycles. When he gets out of the army (and I'm praying hard our plan to fall into place) we may try for IUI with FSP or IVF. I'm hoping we get a good RE in Texas.

Would you like to share how you got to this point in your journey? Not at the moment.

Anything else you would like to share? The girls on this board are amazing and have been my balance when I've felt insane.
