Hey Girls...I'm just wondering if it's me getting older or if it's something to do with the meds...but I can't seem to lose weight.

I've never been heavy, but I'm definitely up 20 pounds from my normal weight since TTCMA. I haven't been on any meds since Dec 18 & was hoping to lose some weight before starting my DE IVF. I'm working out 4-5 times per week & I've been watching what I eat (although I've never been a junk food eater in adulthood...I'm sure I was a candy fanatic just like any other kid). I know that I can probably eat smaller portions, but I feel like something has changed in my body!

Is it getting older (I'll be 34 next week) or has the Follistim, Menapur, Lupron, Vivelle, Ganerelix slowed down my system???

I'm getting frustrated because my clothes don't fit & I don't want to buy the next size up (again). Before, I always told myself that this was all for the baby that I'd have...now, there's not an excuse because we are still a few months out from DE IVF. UGH...

Sorry for my vent/rant/Debbie-Downer-ish attitude! I just want to be able to fit in my shorts this summer!

Have you considered joining any of the sites that help you track your food? I like myfitnesspal .com.. it even has an app.
Even when I think I am watching my portions and stuff, I am always shocked when I get back really measuring and tracking to see how much I am taking in.
It also for me helps to watch my carbs. For whatever reason, my body doesn't react well to them. I've always lost more weight the weeks that I restricted my carbs vs the weeks that I don't.
I hope you figure out what's not working for you so you can get into those shorts you want to wear!!

I have gained weight for sure since starting IVF - I think it has to do with a bunch of different factors (meds, body chemistry, age) I've gained 15lbs since I started meds yet I have a friends who has lost 10 and we are on the same meds. Strange.

I've gained 20 lbs since TTCMA over the last two years. This was all while trying to loss weight to prepare for IVF. I have no idea how this happened other then blaming meds, stress and depression.

I need to get pregnant so I will feel better.

I gained about 15lbs over the 1 1/2 years on variety of meds (plus a few short pregnancies) and I definitely feel the meds were contributing to the weight gain. The last couple of cycles I was being very restrictive diet wise (at a calorie count that previously had me losing weight) and exercising daily - and yet couldn't lose even a single pound. I'm not sure which med to blame (or maybe just the combo of all of them?) but I definitely think it messes with your metabolism.

I feel the same! I've gained too, but I dont want to blame it on the meds, because I KNOW I've been eating badly lately

Just what we need on top of stress and anxiety...GUILT!

I have ate bad too but it's the meds and stress fault! I would never normally do this to myself in regular circumstances. I do love sugar way to much. Maybe I should trade my sugar addiction for a POAS addiction instead.

In the past six months I have gained 20lbs. The only thing I have done differently in that entire time period is the fertility meds - Clomid (3 months), Femara (2 months), and now Follistim. There is no other reasonable explanation for the weight gain. I have not eaten more, nor have I altered my level of activity.

Prior to the meds, I'd been holding steady or losing...
