IVF Feb/March 2013 25 eggs retireved, ICSI 18 fertilized, 3 transferred on day 3, 4 frozen...
I walked out of that RE office with my photo copy of my 3 embies like I was walking on cloud nine. I had to wait about 30 minutes after my exam till I found if my embies made it since being fertilized.
thank you SO MUCH for sharing your pics! They look amazing. I don't have any experience with transfer numbers but I wish you the best as you make your decision. How is the acupuncture going? Will the acupuncturist be with you during the transfer??
I don't think I can ask the Embryologist because I don't think he speaks a lick of English. He just sort of zooms in and out of the office. His lab is right downstairs in the same building. Does't even make eye contact with any one.
RE hasn't suggested anything yet but I think 2 will be the most he will do but I don't know for sure. I guess we skipped talking about this part. His goal is one healthy baby.
Acupuncture is going good. I go tomorrow night after work which is the night before transfer. She wont see me again till BFP or BFN. She is in a different office altogether. I am looking forward to the break from that really, I am just getting sick of needles.
Thanks again everyone for your support.
You can see in the 2nd picture how one didn't fertilize at all. So you can see what only an egg looks like.
We did ICSI and I think assisted hatching. I just didnt want to risk freezing and then thawing with my grade of embryo's so we just transferred both of them and the third was just so we didnt leave it in the lab.

They look beautiful! I agree, this is a super exciting/special part of doing IVF. I have pictures of my baby girl from this stage. Decisions on how many to transfer are super tough. I struggled with this on my FET. I had two very nicely graded embies and chose to transfer one at a time. Neither took for me. I am slightly regretful that I didn't transfer them both at once because the success rate was slightly higher for two, but hindsight is 20-20. Whatever you choose, I wish you bunches and bunches of luck and blessings.
BTW, when I was making my decision, my sister asked me this interesting question: Would you rather have 2 (or 3) or 0 babies?

YAY, I had to come on my desktop, I can't see pics on my Kindle!! Oh they are just beautiful Gretchen...and an A+!!!! Doesn't get any better than that. They are JUST perfect. Why did they decide to do a 5dt? I'm always curious the difference in labs
That is neat to see just the egg as well (although, of course I wish that one had fertilzied as well!). Your babies are with the most expensive babysitter ever, I know they are being taken super great care of....can't wait till transfer
I'd transfer them all if it was me. If I left a good one to go to freeze and for some reason it didn't make it to freeze or didn't make it through thaw, I think I'd always regret that...food for thought. And an FET is another, what...3-4k? not to mention monthly storage fees...although twins are costly as well haha Am I helping at all? LOL
So many decisions and questions. I'm sure this is why they made us decide beforehand!
