So it was an interesting visit. I liked him. He was weird but very attentive (too attentive maybe and that made me think he was weird?). He took our entire history and asked a ton of questions. He also kept saying, “I am sure I haven’t told you anything you don’t already know” and at one point asked, “So just curious, did I say anything you didn’t know already?” LOL!
He seems very knowledgeable and spoke about issues we have and his opinion on them and such. It was about an hour and a half consult and in the end he said he thinks that we should try 2-4 more Femara cycles since it did work. He said that because of my ages I am “bumping into pregnancy less often” but that it is obviously still happening. He said if I had a ton of money I could jump straight to IVF and he would gladly take me, but he didn’t feel we needed to but instead needed patience (while acknowledging we have been trying for quite a while and we have been patient but we need to wait a bit more). I talked about my concerns with the OB doing the IUI and he told us that basically it’s more convenient if we used them but that likely the results would be very similar. So it comes down to what we want to pay for convenience and peace of mind. He said he would stay with the OB but will also take me on and would be happy to do so.
I was not expecting any of that. I thought for sure I would get subtle hints to do IVF at the very least. But not at all.
So I am definitely doing this cycle with my OB and going from there. I am thinking 3 cycles (including the current).

Dh left and seemed upset. I was confused since he likes staying with the OB and I was the one who pushed us to the RE. He said he is just so tired and wants us to be pregnant already I felt bad for him. This whole thing has taken such a toll on him too.

Side note: DH had an u/s this week and it looked good. He has bloodwork done today (finally hormones checked!!!) and an SA next week at a *good* clinic.

So I am going to try to remain optimistic and I will be pregnant THIS YEAR. I will not wait until my next birthday to move on to ivf if need be.

Thank you ladies for the support

I like hearing the RE didn't push you straight for ivf. It sounds like he was giving you honest advice and not just trying to make money. Hopefully the plan will work for you and hopefully DH's results come back normal. Sorry DH is having a tough time. I always feel like guys take it personally toward their manhood sometimes that things arnt working. I'm really praying this cycle is it for you lucy!!

I am glad that he didn't force you straight into IVF. Sorry that DH is having a rough time with all of this. Really hoping that you don't have to wait much longer for your bfp. At least it sounded like he is really interested in helping you and not just in it for the money. Really hoping and praying that you get your bfp soon!!!

well that sounds like it went wonderfully! He sounds awesome. And like an advocate for you, not for your money.

Your hubby is cute. How sweet!

Wow Lucy - I am glad you at least went to see him. Now you don't have to wonder and you can feel confident staying with OB for 3 more months. Then after that you have options with an RE you like. I hope you never have to see him again.

Love DH extra hard. This stuff is hard on them too. Mine struggles too.

Thanks ladies

I do feel better. i did miss my CD3 labs so I guess i will do them next cycle. I am not too stressed about it because if they are bad we just go to ivf and I am just not stressing about it anymore. I am going to work hard to try to make it happen soon but if it's not I will be ok. It will be ok

love you ladies
