WTH?
Went for my scan and she said she thinks she sees an Endometrial Polyp? Wonderful.
She said a scan should be done right after AF but I read mid cycle is better?
I read it does affect fertility? What about m/c?

I am thinking allergy or not I want an HSG. I read some women can do it if they take allergy meds and bring an epi pen.

I did an u/s last year when we started MA looking for a reason why I have SUCH heavy AF and it saw nothing. Is it possible this has been causing the heavy AF for the last couple years? It is *bad*... Better with clomid and a bit better with Femara as far as clotting and the length of AF. I spot until CD9-14 depending on the cycle.

Maybe something is telling me to just stop TTC.

It very well could be the cause of your heavy AF. Cause of your m/c, I wouldn't be able to say either way. I would imagine the only reason it would is if the implantation occurred on or very near to the polyp. Same theory as fibroids I'd imagine.

What are you allergic to? I'm allergic to iodine and had a procedure that was like an HSG but it was done with an endoscope and not ultrasound or xray. I think it was called a Hysteroscopy. He still used I think warm saline to flush with.

I don't really know what that is but don't think it is a sign to stop ttc. I think it could be an answer to some questions. Why haven't then seen that before in the last year?

....and you're not a drama queen you are awesome!

I had a polyp before i got pregnant with DD. I had a HSG that showed normal looking uterus. But I had heavy periods and my lining got to 17-18mm at ovulation. so my RE did a sonohysterogram and that's when they found it. I honestly can't remember if they did it at the same time in my cycle where they would do a HSG or at a random time in my cycle. But I do believe sonohysterograms are better at picking up polyps than a HSG.
As for the polyp. My RE said it can definitely prevent an embryo from implanting and can cause miscarriages bc it causes inflammation. I had a lap done to remove it and turns out mine was actually partially blocking my left tube. So definitely something to have checked out.

Thanks ladies.
I see *my* Dr on Monday for the IUI so I will talk with her (first time I have seen her in months because my cycle doesn't match her schedule).

TMI
I really think something cause my periods to do this tho... It was about 2.5y ago I think? All of a sudden I had a horrific cycle. I even went in right away to see an OBGYN thinking maybe it was a m/c. Nothing was saw or done. But my periods remained the same after that. I bleed through a pad an hour on CD2 when I am not on fertility meds and resorted to wearing a diaper on CD2 night. It has been better since doing clomid and the femara but any cycles where we break I am reminded why I didn't go out on CD2 even during the day. But no cramping really more than usual and it's not bad.

I don't know why they haven't seen it. No one else mentioned it until now... Maybe the Dr I saw today was a quack? I don't know. I just feel like I need to leave this practice when it comes to fertility. But if I go to the IVF clinic for IUIs I don't want to spend $5000 on IUIs and end up not being able to afford IVF.
i dunno.

I'd look into a hysteroscopy or sonohysterogram(Saline vs idodine)

I know there are several people who have had them removed.

I agree with Gretchen, I don't see this as a sign to stop either but something you could fix and hopefully solve your problems. Hopefully when you see your doc she can give you some answers!
