Good Morning! I hope all of you had a good Mother's Day Celebrating Women! Whether it was a celebration for you, your mom, your grandma or just celebrating women - I hope all of you had a nice day.
Well Friday night we told DS. He was very excited and said he thought something might be up because I was sleeping so much. He was even more excited when we told him it was twins. Then he reminded me that there is no baby as good as a Conner baby! My DS has always been the best kid ever and was the easiest baby ever. I assured him he would always me my favorite and that nothing would change other then more blissful chaos. He was super excited talking about how he is going to teach them everything we do like snowboarding and ice skating and how he could be their hockey coach someday. I said, "What if they are girls?" He said, "hum, well is that really an option?" lol Then said, "Well I don't care, they are ridding my dirt bike with me anyways even if they are in dresses and crying and hanging on to their barbie dolls, I will make them tom boys". So cute! Then all weekend long he would bring up that I am pregnant. Like I used the blanket on the couch that he likes and he would say, "oh just cause your pregnant you get the pick of the best blanket now?" He kept asking me questions all weekend like if I could feel them and how will I sleep when my belly is big.
On Mother's day we decided to tell MIL and her mom (DH grandma). We had lunch, gave out gifts and cards and flower baskets and then said we had one more gift. I could tell right away MIL ears perked right up and I could see her "hoping". Then DH said, "We are expecting and we are expecting twins." MIL broke out in complete tears and hugs and said she has been praying for this for YEARS and on and on and on. Then DH and DS decide they are going outside and leave me there with MIL who is sobbing and can't stop and wants to ask me every personal questions possible about how this happened. I can't lie so I totally told her we had help and that we have been going through this for years and our prayers have been answered but we are still so early and need to take it day by day. She took it all very well. I thought she would be mad that DH never told her all that we've been going through. She handled it perfectly though and I was very proud of her. She spent some time talking about her pregnancy with my DH and we had a bonding moment which was nice.
It's probably a good thing we are having two because she is going to be up our butts with her first Grandchild and with Two babies there will be enough to go around.
