Get annoyed with tv shows/ movie infertility struggles????

The number one thing that annoys be is when a woman, or couple explains that they " can't have kids...." Then they leave it at that!!!!!!

Am I the only one who wants to know WHY??? I want to get down to the bottom of it. Dissect it. Look over her paper work and discuss options lol.....

Sorry.... Total rant.... Lol

it drives me crazy. I hate it. I hate that they have to leave it totally ambiguous. They don't mention the heartache and struggle and the crazy mad scienve part where we all become semi doctors.

I've watched The Young and Restless since I'm 9. Recently, they had a couple start "fertility treatments" but the show obviously did no research on it. All of the things they say are totally wrong. I should write an email to them. They were talking about doing an ER and then the characters were saying they would go home and BD to make the baby. I got mad at that storyline.

OMG this drives me nuts too! There was one episode of Private Practice, where they did ER and then fertilized the egg and then did the transfer...all in a matter of an HOUR. UM that show is about couples ttc and issues, you'd THINK that the show could do better background on actual procedures! SHEESH.

This drives me NUTS in shows. I agree with Jen, I don't know if I really want to know or be nosy! Either way, I WANT TO KNOW!

I'm always disecting shows and thinking...that is wrong etc....you are definitely not alone Melissa!!!

Lol Leah, I remember that episode.

I remember on Friends, and episode where Pheobe is getting IVF ( surrogate for her brother and his wife) she is left in the room with the embryos in a Petri dish, like 8 embryos by the way lol. Then she goes home and takes a test and finds out she is pregnant haha.

The reason I finally wrote something about this annoyance was when I was catching up on 30 Rock. Liz is struggling to conceive so she " starts fertility meds" which consists of a prescription for progesterone...... ??????

Did anyone see the episode of Joan and Melissa where Joan was giving her injections? They painted a decent picture. I can relate with how :::cough cough::: emotional i get mid cycle. I recently made my mom watch that episode after I told her about the bravelle shots.

It drives me nuts too!!! And that episode of friends is totally nuts...Now I am sure they could have come up with something funny for Phoebe to do during the tww. I did agree with the part right before the transfer when her brother and sis in law say...We really need this to work, we spent all our money. LOL! Now that is true to infertility.
