Hi ladies,

Just wanted to give an update on me. My hubs and I went to our IVF consultation on June 3rd (and I got to meet Melissa in person!) and it went well. We are excited to start working with our doctor and while we wish we could just jump on the IVF bandwagon this month, we are planning for October to save up as much as we can, and my job will have slowed down by then, so that will be better when have to travel for a longer period of time too. There was a ton of information to go over and think about while we were there, but overall it was a good intro to the clinic. We went away with some orders for testing back at home, plans to go back to the clinic for a day filled with testing later this summer, and a script for BCP to hold off my endo.

So while at the clinic, I had an u/s done to look at my follie count and also had some blood drawn for a CBC, AMH testing, and genetic testing. I am supposed to hear back about the genetic stuff on Friday and it makes me nervous about what I will hear. The hubs and I don't know of anything that run in our family, but I worry that there is something to be found. So far, I heard back that my CBC had a couple numbers just out of the normal range but that the doctor isn't worried about them. Today I had some stuff done on my Day 3 (baseline u/s, Estrogen, and FSH) and heard back that my u/s looked good (I had 9 follies varying in size from 4.6-9.4mm) and my FSH was 6 and Estrogen was 18 (both of which they said was good).

So that is where I am. I am kinda bummed about having to go on BCP for so long (I start today, and go until they stay to stop, but at least a couple of months) since it means there is NO chance of having a surprise BFP before our cycle, but it is the doctors orders (as he said not to do another lap surgery), so I will do what he says. We are planning to go back for our day of testing at the beginning of August, and hopefully we can continue on our plan to cycle in October. I am so ready to do this and wish I could be moving faster with it all, but am just happy to have a plan move forward with.

So that is my update.

It's nice to take that stress off. It really does a number on our bodies. I am looking forward to my summer off too. Enjoy yourself!
