I called this morning for my progesterone level. It's 1.8. I knew it was going to be low considering I just got a + OPK (day 22) on Sunday, but they wanted me to come in on Monday for the bloodwork. The nurse said I should probably come in to talk to the doctor about the next step. The first available appointment is November 20. That seems like such a long way. So I won't be going on Clomid the next cycle. I thought about it and decided to call a Clinic that is 30 minutes away. I'm able to get in on November 16. A little better. I'm just getting a little fed up with the Clinic here. I'm a little upset about this. I don't know what the next step will be.

They should have waited a few more days to do the progesterone level. The result is ambiguous because your body barely had time to produce progesterone following ovulation. I would tell them you want another test, how do they expect to get real results when they don't follow standard procedure. So not cool because now they have you wondering about what's wrong when they just tested the level at the WRONG time. You will not have Progesterone in your body until after ovulation. It takes a few days to build up. I had the same issue, they told me to come in last monday for my progesterone check and I knew I hadn't ovulated more than a few hours before. So I waited till friday and got a nice level of 33.7. I have no doubt I would be in your shoes right now if I had gone in on monday. Demand another test! And keep your head up.

Testing your progesterone too soon is simply a waste of time and is not giving the results your are looking for. You should go a week after you ovulate, even if you are not ovulating until late in the cycle. Only then will you get a true result and know if the Clomid is working or not.
