I finished my 2nd round of Clomid this month, and instead of CD 5-9, I took it CD3-7 instead.

Will this make me O sooner than usual? I ask b/c I went for my follicle check on CD 13 and the Dr. said I had 2 big follicles, about 29mm. Is it possible I O'd before my follicle check and didn't know it? I didn't even test until CD13 b/c I usually O so late, like 15-20 days. But I'm now on CD18 and the line looks like it's getting fainter. It was pretty faint on CD 13 too. I thought if you had follicles, you ovulated..?

My fertility clinic is closed over the weekend... so I'm hoping you educated ladies will have the answer! Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi I'm just a lurker but I've read that after your last pill you ovulate 5-12 days later putting you anywhere from day 12 to 24. Hope that helps! GL!

When I went in for my ultrasound last Thursday on cd 12 after taking the 50 mg days 5-9, my doctor noticed many large follicles. He said they might have been left over from the last Clomid cycle or new ones or both. This might be the case for you. I think ovulation is when the egg is released from the follicle. Maybe you are going to O soon. Good luck!

Thank you so much, that explains a lot!!! The doctor did say it was possible I'd already released the egg, so maybe that's the case, or it's a slow/no O month.

Usually when you take it early you theoretically should O a little sooner. Usually you O when your follicles are 20-23mm. If they get bigger than that they can be overmature. Are you sure you dr. said 29mm? That is pretty big. It is possible that you already O'ed a different follicle and that one stuck around.

My first cycle on Clomid my doctor found that my follicles were getting too big (24mm) and not releasing so the next time I had the HcG trigger shot to help the follicle release and then I o'ed sooner. It's amazing how complicated it can be.

I'm not sure if all that helped you or not, but I wish you lots of luck this cycle.
