A friend of mine is on another board, someone on there told her that if she doesnt get the HCG shot while on clomid it wont work. She told her that clomid affects your pituitary gland and you will not ovulate unless you get the shot. Also that you HAVE to do an ultra sound. Has anyone heard of this?

I think that is inaccurate info regarding the HCG shot. Maybe that is just for some women in particular. As far as the ultrasound, that is helpful so the doctor can check if the Clomid is giving you cysts or thinning out your uterine lining. It's also helpful to see how many follicles you have and how big they are. I wasn't given one my first Clomid cycle but I was given on this past Thursday on my second Clomid cycle.
