I failed. Yep, failed. I'm insulin resistant which is the cause of our infertility. I'm perfectly healthy in EVERY OTHER way BUT this. Go figure. The good thing is that it can be fixed through diet & medication, Metformin (glucophage). The bad thing, I have to stay healthy otherwise I will end up w/ type II diabetes, heart problems, high blood pressure, etc. Also, when I get pg, I have a 50%-60% chance of ending up w/ Gestational Diabetes. Huh...life is definitely tricky. Thank God I have great everything else & that is due b/c of me keeping healthy. At least something is right.
Tomorrow I go into the dr & also to see the nutritionalist. Pray all goes well!
Oh darn...another symptom of PCOS. The good news is you now know what you're up against, and diet and the met can really make a difference. Once those 2 things are under control, the fertility meds can work better. I'm cheering you on hun! (((hugs)))
The insulin resisitance is a classic symptom of PCOS, which I know you have recently been diagnosed with. I'm so sorry to hear about this though. I know you don't need anything else adding to this complicated mix of TTC. The good news is that they have identified it since it is something that you have already been living with, and know they can treat it. People with PCOS who take metformin combined with ovulation drugs have a much higher chance of getting pregnant. So this finding could very well lead you to the right treatment to get your BFP! I sure hope so.
I am so glad they were able to figure out what was causing the problem!! And even more thankful that there is something that can help you!
It's hard when it isn't expected though, and scary.... But It's great that you are so healthy in all the other areas!!!! I believe you will get your BFP, just a matter of time
Thanks ladies! Today I'm off of work to go to the RE. We will be there at 11am to do a follicle scan & learn how to do the shots. Right after at 12pm, I meet w/ the nutritionist. I'm just glad that we are on our way!
