That's right... I'm officially quarantined in my apartment for awhile. We don't really know HOW i got these wonderful itchy red bumps, but there are rumors involving my lovley friend Stefanie who just got shingles ( a form of chicken pox) so.... yea... I'm making an appointment today to see what the heck is going... wonderful huh??? lol... OH and just incase you didn't know... I have never had the chicken pox before. I tried to get them when I was younger, but it never worked, so I got a "vaccination" psh... stupid crap....

SO, i'm hoping that this doesn't affect my medication use with Tamoxifen- like if they will have to give me any meds that will counter act? I hope not... I know that chicken pox can be really bad if you are pregnant, so it's a really good thing i got them NOW instead of later... YIKES!!! Anyways, yea, So I will probably be on here a lot today... lol... talk to y'all later

I hear ya on vaccines. I have no immunity to Rubella and was vaccinated again after I had Jess yet STILL have no immunity.

I would call your doctor though - unfortunatley I think they may make you sit out a cycle

Oh no! I've heard the older you are when you get chicken pox, the worse they are. I had them when I was in 6th grade, and I had them pretty bad. I would call your Dr. and let them know what is going on. I don't think there is any medicines they give for the chicken pox. They just have to run their course. I could be wrong though. I think you can buy some itch cream over the counter. But other than that, I don't think their is any medicines for chicken pox.

Oh no Melissa! Geez, you just can't seem to catch a break, girl! I hope you get through them quickly. Having chicken pox as an adult is riskier then as a child, so take it easy and keep an eye on things like fever and what not. If it gets too bad, get your butt into the doctor. My DH had chicken pox as an adult and it was not fun - although he is a man and they are wimps.

I'm with Stina, call your RE and let them know. I'm also thinking they may want to sit you out a cycle. I know that would really suck, but better to sit it out then to waste a cycle of meds for no reason.

*hugs* Feel better soon.

Well, I'm leaving to go to the doctor soon. I'm a teacher, so I really need to get in and find out if I actually DO have chicken pox... cuz if I don't then I can go back to work... but If I do... then I obviously am out for atleast a week... I called my fertility specialist, and they said I should be fine, especially since I am still on my period... It would be different if I was like about to O or, if I was already preggers, THEN it's really dangerous. I will find out more information when I get back from the doctors... I'm still hoping it's NOT chicken pox and some weird coincedence instead... oh well

Oh you poor poor thing!!!! Last summer I thought my son and I had got into a batch of chigger bugs but the bumps kept getting worse and spreading. I took my son to the doctor to see what it was.. the nurse laughes at me and says " oh it the chicken pox" I look at her like she is retarded and laugh, I say "thats impossible I have already had the chicken pox and I have what ever he has" Well after 6 nurses and 2 doctors looked my son and I both over it was determined...Yep we both had the chicken pox!! Whats the odds an adult who has had chicken pox already and a child that had the vaccine would get the chicken pox.
They sent us home with tons of motrin, calamin lotian and oatmeal bath. That was one of the worst 2 weeks of my life! Hope you are feeling better soon!!!

HAHAHA... ok... so... I don't know where to start. I just got back from my appointment and... well... I don't have chicken pox.... what I HAVE is....*drum roll please*.... RAZOR BURN.... that's right... lol, i am SUCH a moron. I probably wouldn't have been so paranoid about the bumps had my friend not had shingles... So just being safe I went to the doctor, only to find out it was stinkin' razor burn!!! He asked if I had used a different razor latley, so I confessed to having borrowed dh's razor (which is one of those crazy 5 blade ones) and apparently when using it, it spread his follicles around and irritated my skin causing little red bumps.... yea... I felt like an idiot. We pretty just laughed it off... *sigh* Never a dull moment in my lift...

You're safe in angels wings.
