I have recently heard more about accupuncture on here.
If anyone has had this done can you tell me a little bit more about it.
I heard that it can really help with infertility issues.
if you know info, i am interested to hear about it. How many times do they suggest doing it?
what is the cost? does it hurt?
thanks in advance for any information you can help me out.
My dh is seeing one. He charges $45 a session if you buy 10 at a time. He goes once a week, except when he's out to sea. He also was started on some herbs and such to coincide with his meds from his dr. Those cost about $90 a month. But not all his patients need both treatments together, my dh just has major swimmer problems.
I am going to see an scupuncturist for the 1st time this weekend. I'm free and clear with all the ttc testing, but it was suggested to relax me. People keep telling me I need to relax, not about ttc, but other stuff so I decided to give it a try. I talked to my acupunctuirst over the phone first and he said he would balance me out and pay special attention to my fertility needs in the process. He seemed to think I would only need a treatment here and there when I was extremely stressed, like I am now. I'm also getting a massage too, and it's going to be $80 for both together. So we'll see ~ hopefully it works REALLY soon!
Mine costs $100 for the first session, and $75 for each session after that, but I'm in Cali, and it seems like everything is more expensive over here! It isn't painful at all, in fact, it sort of feels good. Certain points get a bit tingly, which is neat. It is very relaxing, and I loved my first appointment -- my next appointment is tomorrow. There have been studies that have shown a greater IVF success rate in women who do IVF, but the cause is undetermined -- IMO it is because of the relaxation aspect, so more than likely any method you use might have the same effect (massage, breathwork, yoga, etc). For men there have been studies showing that it may actually improve sperm count.

Me: 32.:. DH: 30...TTC w/ Male Factor.... BFP! Was triplets! NOW IT'S TWINS!!! 1 BOY, 1 GIRL
I have seen studies say up to 40% increase in successful IVF rates so that is why I am doing it. I missed my 2nd session this morning (got bad news seconds before I was leaving) but I am going again on Monday.
The relaxation is wonderful but I believe the increased blood flow to the uterus is what really helps get things going.
The book 'the Infertility Cure' is a great read...
