I've hit the 6 month mark of TTC after my m/c in December, and today I called my OB to have him call me back about it, and he called back and wants to see me on Tuesday. I'm nervous/anxious/excited to get something going, get some information at least. He is a wonderful doctor, and I trust him to do what's best for me. Can any of you ladies tell me what to expect at this first visit? And any specific questions I should ask? Thanks so much!

Oh boy! I remember getting to the point where I wanted a referral to an RE. It was hard! Basically, you need to go armed w/ all the information you can about your cycles. Ask your OB what he thinks may be going on. Suggest a full b/w done on your hormones, etc. You may also want to suggest doing a scan on CD12-14 to see what your ovaries are doing. Another thing that may be of concern is glucose/insulin. Ask if they will do a 2 hr glucose/insulin test. Discuss diet & exercise. Ask for advice on how to become healthier. That is really all I can think of at the moment. Hopefully it will help you out!

Astrid gave you excellent questions to ask. The only thing I will add is that if he decides not to send you to an RE yet, ask him why. Just so you know. Have you called your insurance yet to find out their regulations on the RE/OB thing??

No I haven't called our insurance, basically because it's switching on July 1. We are getting a MUCH better "female friendly" insurance plan, where basically if I DO get pregnant, all I have to pay is $20 and 100% is covered, same with any fertility issues. But I guess I can call my new insurance to see how they handle things. Thanks for the advice ladies!!
