Hi all, so I think we've decided to try the Clomid and IUI this month. I left a voice mail for the nurse, look forward to hearing what she thinks. In addition though I thought I'd try acupuncture. I've read that it really works for some women, if for no reason than to just calm you down before you have a procedure done. Has anyone else ever tried it? I go at 3:45pm today for my initial consult, I'm chicken but I'm thinking I should do everything possible to try and improve my chances. Supposedly having the HSG done increases fertility, so I did that, Clomid, did that, IUI - gonna do that, and accupuncture. Any other ideas? Stand on my head? Sprinkle fairy dust on my head? Pray (do that already)? LOL.

Anyway, just curious if anyone else had ever tried it.

I have - I'm doing it once a week til af shows then I will only be doing it twice the week before O. Dh is also doing it. His schedule is once a week til the week before O then he's twice that week.
Even if it doesn't work for ttc I'll still go cause it really relaxed me. The atmosphere, no cellphones, soft music and lighting, It's GREAT!

I have and it did nothing I was doing it once a week for almost 3months and in the end I gave up.I was having acupuncture in my tummy (reproductive area) 6 "fertility" injections in my thighs (3 on each side about 4 inches apart),permanent points in my ears (they held the tiny lead balls in place with little band aids and kept them there for 3 days) and I had to take 3 different "fertility" blends that my insurance didnt cover, and they were VERY expensive (more than Clomid!).
He said I would notice the difference right away, but nothing changed and I was diagnosed with PCOS by my OB half way through.
The man I went to for the acupuncture was a homeopathic "doctor" and to this day I think everything he gave me was just sugared water
The acupuncture its self did nothing for me either.

Hmm, interesting. The lady I saw yesterday seemed okay, I will see her again on Monday. Doing clomid again this cycle and U/S on Friday to see if any follicles are ready. If so, we'll do the shot to drop 'em on Friday night for IUI on Sunday. I did not feel overly relaxed, but I'm an edgy person. lol.

Anyway, thanks for the info.

I personally LOVE acupuncture, and have had 4 sessions so far. I go to an "Acuspa" so there is a mix of techniques used on me, including acupuncture, electrostimulation, massage, cupping, aromatherapy, & visualization. I find it to be extremely relaxing, and it seems to have helped my endometrial lining get "fluffier."
