I can hardly believe it, but I have officially graduated out of my IVF program and back to my OB!! I'm not even sure I can explain how relieved/happy/ecstatic I feel right now... but here's my little story of how today went:

For some reason I decided to drive DH and I to the appointment (he almost always drives when it's both of us). Anyway, I go to park and I guess I was a little distracted because I pulled up to far and hit the wooden fence thing in front of my car. I started to cry I was so upset (I'm thinking nerves!) but there was no harm done.

So that little mishap behind us, we get to the clinic about 20 minutes early and we see one of the IVF doctors come in (we have one assigned doctor but can see anyone of the team of 7) and I was so happy because it was my favourite doctor and the one who has seen me both at 6 and 7 weeks. I went to get changed and was waiting for him to come back and another one of the IVF doctors saw me and came to see how I was doing. Then a couple of nurses came by all giving me their best for a good result. It hit me then that after 6 rounds of IVF and all the appointments that go with it, you really do get to know a lot of nurses and doctors.

Anyway, the good stuff... The scan was great and everything is perfect! The baby was measuring at exactly 8 weeks (I'm technically 7w6d) today and the h/b was 166bpm. The doctor looked around and said he didn't see any signs of any more blood, no signs of any seperation and said to me "I would tell you if there was anything at all there of concern and there's not, I'm not worried about you at all". The best freaking words I've ever heard!

They then sent me on my way and as I was leaving all the nurses and doctors, even the secretary all gave me a nice send off. It was so nice of them although it made me almost cry again.

Next step for me now is 12 week appointment with my OB preceeded by a consult with one of his nurses (just to do paperwork).

Sorry this was so long but all of you here have been so incredibly supportive to me through all of this, I really wanted to share my story with you and to tell you to never give up because anything really is possible!

Here are my u/s pics:

The time we had with you was brief,
We had to say good-bye,
Now angels kiss your little face,
And sing your lullaby.

Someday again, we'll be with you,
To cherish all those things,
Until that day it helps to know,
You're safe in angels wings.

Oh Wow!! That is so exciting! I bet in some ways that was the happiest goodbye to the doctors you've had in a while! I'm sure they will miss you there too

That is such good news. It's so encouraging for those that have gone through similar trials as you have to know they can get as far as you.

Just take it one day at a time. It sounds like everything is going well. That is a great heart beat! What a cute u/s of your little bean too!

Gillian, I can't explain how excited I am for you. When you were in the 2ww, I just had this feeling that this was "it" for you and I love hearing the good news!!!!

I never made it to the step of graduating from the RE to the OB, so I can only imagine how good that feels!! I'm so excited for you!
