Today was the day that I started on Lucrin, and therefore the day I started my daily injections.
I have never been a big fan of needles and have been known to shed a tear or two when getting a blood test or having a canular
Here's my injection story...
First I re-read the instructions for the 3rd time to make sure I knew where the needle was going to be going in
I opened up the alcohol swab and wiped my skin
I filled up the needle with the correct amount of liquid
That was the easy part...
I then sat looking at the needle for a couple of minutes.
Wiped the alcohol swab on my skin again
Double-checked with DF I was going to inject the needle in the right place
Took a couple of deep breaths
Placed the needle against my skin
And....chickened out, taking the needle off my skin again
Then it all hit me and I had a bit of a cry (I am such a wuss when it comes to needles, seriously)
Took a couple more deep breaths to compose myself
Checked the amount of fluid in the syringe (again)
Rubbed the alcohol swap on my skin (again)
Placed the needle against my skin (again)
Then...FINALLY...pushed the needle through my skin (with shaking hands) and injected myself.
DF told me afterwards just how proud he was of me for being able to do it (eventually!)
Let's hope tomorrow's injection isn't such an effort!!
Congrats for getting over the first one. That's the worst.
With my first Gonal-F injection, I spend about 20 minutes psyching myself into sticking a needle into my body. After realizing it wasn't *that* bad, the rest took a minute or less to do. Heck, I did one while on the phone with my DH.

Wow! I remember our 1st injection. It wasn't that bad but DH was kind of nervous. The tummy injections didn't hurt, at least for me BUT these PIO injections in the muscle are killing my rear end. Seriously, I can only handle so many in a row & then I will have a good cry. There are just so many places to put it before it starts bruising.
