Have been dealin with it all weekend-it SUCKS! I dont know when bad is bad to go to the hospital so I just called my RE's office again, waiting for them to call back to see what I should do-its not soooo much pain right now, its more the breathing thats the trouble and nauseous....i cant hardley eat a thing-its been like that since Saturday-i dont know if that is associated with the pregnancy or OHSS.....she told me sat. that really, its something that goes away on its own, but then i read about people that go in and have it drained out-...what kind of process is that? I am so over feeling miserable....i think i'd rather have a terrible bout with morning sickness then lookin and feelin 8 months preggers....ick : ( Sorry for my rant, thats my "Monday Moan" for you guys.....
Sweetie ~ I felt that mine was severe enough when I couldn't breathe w/o emence pain shooting throughout my body. For me that was time to go to the hospital. I'll tell you that it has gone away though, or at least I feel like it has. I know that it is very uncomfortable. Draining only happens in very severe cases. Chances are that yours isn't too severe. Apparently the more eggs you harvest, the higher the chance of OHSS is.
I'm sorry you're having to deal with this, it sounds very uncomfortable. I just had major bloat with my cycles, but nothing too serious. I wouldn't worry about having to have anything drained, if the OHSS were serious enough, they wouldn't have even continued with the cycle (i.e. transfer... I think you're IVF, sorry if I've got that wrong).
You were right to call into your RE and if they're not really concerned about it right now and taking the "it will just clear up on it's own" approach, then I wouldn't get yourself too anxious about it. Hopefully you will be in less and less discomfort each day.
