I'm freaking out right now. The area I work in is this large room with no windows and my office is this little room within that room with no windows as well and absolutely no ventilation. I work with a lot of money, so the door always has to be shut and the only air coming in is the air conditioning. So, tonight I was in my little office working and I heard all this commotion in the larger room outside my office. I work a swing shift, so in the later evening hours there are not many people around. The commotion was about 5 guys doing something to the floor right outside my office. I wasn't sure what was going on, but paid no attention to it. All of a sudden I start smelling this AWFUL smell and began to get light headed. Long story short .... it was PAINT THINNER!!! And tons of it ... so here I am in my little office breathing in paint thinner with no ventilation!!! I called my boss and told her I was leaving ASAP and would finish my work tomorrow...she totally understood and was extremely upset they were stripping the floors with employees in the building.

So, I only breathed it in for about 10 minutes ... do you think I should be concerned about that and breathing it in with the little one in my belly?!! I'm probably overreacting, but need some opinions on this one to ease my mind!!
I go to my RE again tomorrow for a beta, and I will ask the nurse to ease my mind.

While I am certainly no expert, I think you got out of there quick enough and shouldn't need to worry, but I would definitely understand why you are worried.

I think things will be fine.

Keep us posted.

I talked to my RE today and he said not to worry at all. He said it was a very short time to be exposed and I shouldn't worry. That made me feel so much better!! When I got to work this morning my boss had already emailed our building superintendent, our President, as well as our safety manager who is in California (I'm in NV). Everyone was very sincere and concerned for me and couldn't believe that this was done in an area with no ventilation. They apologized over and over to me and said they would not put me in that situation again, so that was nice.

Here's the funny thing ... I have not told anyone at my work that I'm pg yet (with my history of losses, I really want to wait) and my boss said she spoke with our HR Rep and she said, "OMG, what if she was pregnant?!! " LOL!!! If only they knew why I ran out of my office so quickly ....
