I really like this RE! we talked for about an hour, covered my history, and I was very pleasantly suprised he agreed with me about the decisions I made during my 2nd pg (that's a story!).
Dh has to do a S/A of course but based on his history they want an extra test done to be sure he doesn't have a chromosome abnormality that could result in recurrent m/c's. He had an undescended testicle removed when he was a toddler.
So for me besides the normal FSH on day 3 I have to have my testosterone levels checked too in case that's been a problem - since going off the pill in 2004 I have awful, embarrassing acne, and it can cause other reproductive problems too.
I get to skip the month on BC for the side effects they give me, so once I get my day 3 FSH levels I get start right away, so provided all the tests come back normal, and AF shows on time, and no other problems crop up, my egg retrieval is tentatively scheduled for Nov. 15th, transfer Nov. 18th. Well so much for Cheri's prediction of conception in October! That'd be a freakin' miracle!
Another thing I thought was interesting - DH is a smoker, and he can't smoke the day of my transfer if he wants to be with me during the transfer. they said NO smoke residue can be on him or even his clothes or they won't let him in the room bc it can damage the embryo. they said they've had to refuse husbands who came in smelling like smoke.
We do have to travel to their office sometime this month just to sign the consent forms and so DH can give a sample, which is nice they have a back-up plan in case he is sick or can't be there in Nov.
Now I hope my day 3 test doesn't fall on the weekend!!! AF is scheduled to arrive Friday, so if she wants to show early or late instead of right on time, that'd be great!

That's great news! Sounds like you'll be holding a baby before you know it! I think we'll be about on the same IVF schedule too (my CD3 was yesterday and we should do the IVF around mid-November) so we can be IVF buddies!

Girl, that is great news! Yep, they are very particular about ANY smells being in the room when you do the transfer. DH & I weren't allowed to use shampoo or deoderant that day. The embryos are very sensitive to smells. I had to do the same thing on retreival day too.

EEK! I think the smell of my deodorant would be better than the smell of me without it!
