I'd have posted about this earlier, but I've had a friend over and things have been busy around here.

I had my baseline ultrasound Tuesday the 9th, and everything came out clear. As usual, my right ovary was hiding. She's very high up which makes ultrasounds very uncomfortable at times . So, since everything came out well, I was told to start my doxycyclene. Jason had to get on that too. I was also told to stop my BCP that night. So even though I had one left, I was to stop it.

That brings us to today. I start on my Lupron. What's strange is, my doctor changed the protocol. Last cycle, he had me take just 5 units once a day. This time, he's going for 20units 2x a day! He called it the Lupron flare.

In two more days, On the 13th, I start the Follistim at 300u. I then have my ultrasound on the 17th to see what my ovaries are doing.

Has anyone heard of the Lupron flare? I double checked with the office about these amounts and dates, and it's no mistake. It just seems like so much so fast. But, I suppose he's just trying something new/different in order to attempt getting more healthy eggs to work with. It seems like this cycle is going to go so fast!

I guess this means there's a good chance my retrieval-transfer will be some time this month and not November.

O/T - There was a new doctor in the office, and he was the one to give me the ultrasound. He was such a nice guy. It seems like in order to work in that office, you have to have an extremely friendly and personable attitude and personality.

Oh how exciting! I hope this all works out for you! Sounds like this is an aggressive cycle with meds. Awesome! Can't wait to see what happens!

HUGS!

I was just thinking today how fast things are going to be. But, for someone as impatient as I can be, this flare treatment doesn't sound all that bad. I'm actually looking forward to next week's ultrasound. I get to see if I'm making more follies than last time. It's 8:45 in the morning , but there are plenty of worse things that I could be doing that early in the morning!

What's scary to me is I could be doing the retrieval/transfer much earlier than I was expecting. That would mean I may actually know if I'm pregnant by the time my family arrives in November. I promised myself and my hubby that this time, I will not announce it. I may tell my mother and father, but that's it. No one else!

But, let's not get too ahead of myself. I start my 300u of Follistim tomorrow. I'll be taking all my shots/meds until it's Ovidrel time.
