Afternoon,

I was wondering for those here in BC, What exactly if anything is covered at a fertility clinic? I am pretty sure the first visit is covered, but not sure if anything else.. What about all the blood work & U/S done there.. are those covered?

Also for those in BC and all over Canada, Do you know what extened Medical plan covered fertility RX's & fertility treatments?

Thanks!

all i had to pay for was the counselling and the IUI. if you need drugs those arent paid for.

the HSG,consult, ultrasound and blood work was all covered by MSP.

thank you.. so did you go to a clinic and get all those tests done or did your obgyn have them done before you were off to see a RE? Like the HSG

Did you take injections with the IUI? If so how much were they?

So all you paid for at the ferility clinic was the IUI & visits, how much was that? I saw at a clinic here in Vancouver that it is like $300-400 for a IUI.. Does that sound about right? Or are there costs above that?

thanks!

I'm in Ontario, so it may not be exactly the same. I had the bulk of all my IVF costs covered for 3 fresh cycles, but they only cover this if you have 2 completely blocked tubes.

Other than that, all of my tests leading up to IVF and including all of the u/s and b/w, etc... were covered.

As for the drugs, that was all covered by my work insurance.

my gp gave me a referral to the clinic and they sent me for the testing. All I paid for was the counselling,IUI and the sperm. I didnt need to use any drugs.

IUI was 200 here.
