Vacation bible school started for my oldest two today. Our church is just about a 5 minute drive away from our house. However, walking is not an option since it is on a busy highway. So, I spent more time putting children in car seats, and taking them back out, then I did driving today. Ugghhh. And poor Alexandria is stuck between the two car seats in the back, so I had to get Jenn out before Alex could even get out of the car. I guess my complaint isn't so much having a large family as it is having 2 little ones that are still so dependent on me for so much, that it's sometimes aggravating when I have to load them all up for something that will take 20 minutes, but without them with me, would take less than 10. Ok, bear in mind it is almost 4 am. This probably didn't come out right. I love my children dearly, and don't for one moment wish I didn't have them, but I sometimes wish they were older, and more independent.
I know JUST what you're talking about...even though we don't have to do the car seat shuffle.
Yesterday I went and did my shopping w/ just my 12 yr old, left the older kids with dh. It was so nice. I didn't have to buckle her in, hold her hand, remind her to stop touching And we had fun! I can't wait until they are all this age.
Remind me of this when they are all teenagers and I'm yanking my hair out of my head
