Megan is not getting it so we'll wait another month or two and try again.

Teresa,

It's funny, because backing off always worked for me. As soon as I stopped caring about potty training, DDs would suddenly decide it was time to use the potty! I am trying to get DD #4 to be familiar with the potty; we'll see!! I hope it works out for you and Megan too. Hang in there!!

I agree that approach has worked best for us.

I respectfully disagree. I appreciate your input, but I have also potty trained a few kids here myself and I know what approach works best for me. Each person is different on their feelings on potty training and what works with them. The two kids I started early and pushed hard didn't potty train till they were past 3 years. The two I took the laid back approach potty trained in a week around 2 years. Megan is only 20 months and not talking well. We gave it a shot and I don't think she is ready yet. I will try again in a couple months. She will still have her potty seat around and I will probably still take her to the potty once a day and any time she is interested, but full fledge potty training I will not try again for a couple months. This approach has worked well for us.
