I pulled a major mommy no-no and picked her up after just sitting down with a very hot bowl of chili (why? I don't know. I just wasn't thinking.) and before I even got her settled in my lap (which ended up being a good thing) she swipe the bowl and dumped it in my lap. It got on her L knee pretty bad and I immediately jumped up, put in the sink and ran cold water. But in the meantime, it was burning the hell out of my inner thigh. Luckily it doesn't seem to be any worse that a sunburn for both of us. I was so so afraid that her fragile skin would blister.
On the upside, the older kids got to have their first snow day of the year! It's also the first year Izzy has participated in a snowball fight and she thought she was hot stuff out there dodging, dipping and diving. So cute!

childless people are always the most perfect parents until they have kids. I'd have done the same thing with the mitts, and if its not cold here, it ain't that cold down there

It was like 48*! I thought I would freeze to death just walking to the car! And you have nothing on me. My kids have dog chewed shoes, no socks, no jackets because of leaving them places they shouldn't. Ski lady is an idiot.
Hope those legs feel better!
I am looking forward to heart shape pancakes, sausages, and giving little love gifts to the kids this morning.
My MIL did amazing watching the kids the past two days. Dh and I cleared out a bunch of clutter. Still have lots to go but it's a start. DH wants to clear out the basement playroom and make it more of a TV room. We picked up a TV, stand and a phone for DH's office at the Thrift store yesterday for $15. I love thrift stores. Nothing like clearing out clutter and then shopping at the thrift store for more clutter LOL!

So, we had our "valentines dinner" first dh phones that he was having barn trouble, (the one night I wanted him in on time) so that was annoying, then during dinner we go around the table and everyone has to say something they like about the other person. Well, my #4 that is very funny, but doesn't think before she speaks and doesn't realize that not everything is funny said something that made #2 burst into tears and run away (she had 'joked' about something #2 is very sensitive about), then #4 had to go apologize to #2 and also ended up crying. This wasn't the way this dinner was supposed to go. Anyways, everyone got over it and it ended up being a very nice evening after all, but then, there isn't a lot that a chocolate fondue can't cure.
just read through a few pages -- geesh you gals have been busy in the last 24 hours or so!!!!
happy valentines day to you all. it weird around here --- not sure how to handle the day when you are in the midst of a divorce, no matter how friendly we are. my little wy-guy gave me a beautiful rose and a huge box of chocolates (bought by my dh of course). my future SonIL made me breakfast and served me too. getting ready to head out to wyatts class for his first ever VD party.

I agree with the others that 48 sounds wonderful. It is suppose to be 38 today and we were super excited about that (well except my oldest son who is stressing about his snowman melting)
Had my first prenatal appointment. The nurse practitioner made a few comments about me having so many other kids at home. Then she asks "So are you one to try for ONE more after this" Obviously trying to imply that having more than 5 would not be a good idea since I am 33. I just kinda shrugged it off and was just like "yeah my husband and I are both from large families and would like a lot of kids"

You know it really irritates me about docs that keep asking how many kids people are going to have. Either they should have 1 of 2 schools of thought 1- I love my patients, I like to get to know them personally and treat them all personally, or 2- I am getting money from these people, so I'll throw on a smile and complain to my spouse about it later.
I took a little nap today, and felt even more like crap afterwards.

Yeah I mean this is the 5th pregnancy in 5 years I've gone to this practice for they've done two surgeries on me, 3 deliveries, and prenatal care so I figure I'm pretty good for business for them so I don't really understand the comments like that either.

Well, you have to know you are approaching that evil age of 35 where you just shouldn't have babies anymore..."advanced maternal age." Also, five babies makes you a "grand multipara" then you get treated like the plague at some places. I just don't understand how you can be so selfish......LMBO!!!
I am making a pound cake that, if the numbers are to be believed, would have 6467 calories and 876 carbs if I ate the whole thing. I divided it by 24 for serving purposes, but really it should be 12. Don't tell anyone, ok?
how nice for you to have a double holiday today, heavens mom. did i ever tell you that i stopped in buckeye to eat at cracker barrell when i went to arizona in november to see my friend when she was in the hospital?
