I loved the hunger games books I read them last year my oldest dd had to read the first one in English class. The older 2 girls went to see the movie on Saturday I am going with my sister tonight to watch it. I know it won't be as good as the book but it looks entertaining. My lap top has a virus so I'm surfing the net on my dd#2 iPod it's a lot slower typing. Fw I have my fingers crossed for you. Beth totally sucks that you have to clean up all that.

Hope everything is going well for FW today. Or she's just napping all day, either way

I also hope you all are so gracious when I'm scared of labor in 6 months! (That sounds like a long time yet!... once I can stop fighting with food I'll be much happier though)

I'd "do" labor for all of you if I could. LOL.

I'm so sleepy today. All the kids are sleeping and I'm on here. It doesn't matter how tired I am, I cannot sleep during the day.

FW!!! Yay!!! I sure hope you are off having a baby!!

I keep checking to see if FW has posted. I sure hope she had a baby last night, or is having one today!
My 10 yo has been complaining about his lower back hurting since Saturday. He is now saying he thinks he needs to go to the dr. Uggghhhh..I never know when to take a kid to thedr. And between having a new baby, and the 5 yo just being dx with diabetes, we have spent too much time at the dr. And what can thy do for a sore back? Its down low, at his spine. Interestingly, the exact area he is pointing at, has a stork bite over it. *sigh* what to do.
Dos anyone here cloth diaper? I've never cd a newborn before, but am this time. He leaks awful, every night. Not sure what to do.

Keep checking for a FW update...

I cloth diaper. I started when my oldest was 3 weeks old and started right away with the last two. I mostly use prefolds in the newborn stage and then when they are big enough I use one size diapers. I'll be using disposables for the next 2 months since we'll be renting and won't have a washer. I really like my cloth diapers and am not looking forward to packing them away for two months. That will be the longest I have ever used sposies.

is he big enough for the diapers yet? we didn't cloth until the babies were about 3 months old. i guess it could be the diaper style or maybe you need more inserts. have you heard of 'diaper doublers'? they are disposable pads (think kotex) that you just stick in the diaper to give extra absorbancy. i know it sort of defeats the purpose of CD but it is a great overnight solution.

My former sil is moving so she can be with her boyfriend. I can't fathom a man ever being worth leaving my child for. But nephew's mother and his dad (my brother) are both selfish, although neither can see it.

I have a friend that's expecting again, that'll be 7 kids 8 and under (4 are fosters but they're there permanently). WOWSERS

A sister of a friend moved to FL so she could be a "vet tech" and go to a "better school"... of course there coincidentally is a guy that she met that lives there too... She left behind her son when he was 3. RJ is the same age as her son, it makes me cry to think of leaving him when he (or any of the other kids) was 3. She said she would call him on holidays and visit sometimes... wow..

I am using cloth now too. Sebastian is 2, and this is the 2nd time he's gotten blisters on his penis that actually bleed. I change him often like 5 times a day, of course I don't wake him overnight. I have been putting a cut up t-shirt piece inside so I can use regular diaper cream again. I don't know what I"m doing wrong. I switched soap to All, and I rinse twice after the soap, once is part of the cycle then there's a 25 minute rinse soak that I do. I don't want to switch back, I like them. They work for Becca and RJ at night with no blister problems, I don't know what to do.
In the newborn situation, I bought a case of newborn diapers. My kids are not too big, small 8's for the biggest so far, and I only have the one size diapers and I don't want to buy a bunch more, so I'll just wait til he/she is big enough to use those on their smallest setting.

We cloth...I love it..I do it once they are about a week old. RM have you stripped the diapers? Levi was getting a blister and i figured it was ammonia or detergent build up after stripping his poor pee pee seems better.

I'm so happy for you to finally have your March baby FW! Congrats again

I don't know how to strip the diapers, can I do all of them in the washer at the same time? They are not even really that old. I bought them brand new about 3 months ago MAYBE.

There are several ways you can strip diapers and it is easiest to do them all at once. Before I switched detergents I used to have stink issues from build up and would have to strip the diapers every couple months.

Here is a blog that explains how to strip diapers and the variations people use. I use dawn dish soap when I strip mine. Stripping Cloth Diapers - Strip Cloth Diapers

What detergent do you use now? Which stripping method do you use?
When I wash the diapers I do that 25 minute rinse, then I do an 87 minute heavy duty wash on hot I have the water heater turned all the way up lol, there is a extra rinse at the end of that cycle, then I do another 25 minute rinse.

I have sampled products from survey places and they sent me test strips for trial cleaning products so I know I have 'very hard' water.

When I strip diapers I put them all in the wash and rather than adding normal detergent do a squirt of Dawn dish soap (you don't need much just a small squirt will break up the icky build up - If you use too much it won't hurt anything but will make the rinsing process a lot longer). Then I just keep doing a hot rinse until there are no more bubbles at the top of the water when it is agitating. (I have a top loader - not sure how to strip with a front loader)

I make my own detergent now. One thing I've learned is that there is no "magic" right detergent for anyone because of all the different water types. That's one thing I'm not looking forward to with moving to a new area is getting used to washing with a new "type" of water. One big thing with any detergent and cloth diaper is to only use a very small amount. Usually about 1/4 of the recommended amount of detergent is plenty for a whole load of diapers. Any more than that builds up in the diapers and causes issues.

I'll have to buy some regular dawn, I just have the overnight soak stuff right now. Do you just do the covers or the inserts too?

Made chicken and dumplings and a peach cobbler for the hubby and older kids. Middles went with their dad and the littles wanted pancakes. whatever.....I felt agreeable tonight.

Canaan has had a bit more awake time today, hoping a bath will wake him up for a bit more then he may sleep better tonight.
