I posted once before and asked if anyone ever had a triple or quad but I am REALLY thinking about getting a quad stroller. Can you gals talk to me, I don't know if I'm loosing my mind. Here is the scoop....

Soon enough I will have 4 kids under 4. Baby #4 is due around April 1st 2010. The twins will have just turned 3 at the end of January and Riley will be about 1.5 then.

I trust Reagan to walk, but Nathan has moderate to severe (non-verbal) autism and runs every chance he gets. I hate using regular shopping carts because I put Riley in the seat that means Nathan has to go in the basket part but he won't sit...he just stands up screams and sways back and forth so that he can stim off the metal bars/lines of the shopping cart. Nathan does much better in a stroller because he is "buckled in". I'm not a big fan of baby wearing although I did wear Riley a little bit. I just think that even if I only get a yr out of it, the quad may be worth the money $300 used to $400 new? I feel like I may as well get a quad rather than a triple so I have a place or everyone if I need it especially for long hilly places like the zoo.

On the other hand, isn't 3 yrs old way too big for a stroller? Won't people look at me funny (not that they wouldn't anyway )? Would it just be easier to keep Riley and Nathan in the double and wear the baby? But wouldn't it be nice to have a place for the new baby to sit when summer comes, or when she starts eating baby food etc.

Thanks in advance for your help - Carry

Well, how hard/easy are those things to find? Baby Universe (my go to place for baby gear b/c of the ability to find online coupons and get free shipping) only has one. I can't tell if it's suitable for baby-babies, though.

I'm all for strollers. I love my double. I see nothing wrong with a 3 yo in a stroller. I use mine for my 3 1/2 yo and my almost 2 yo. I'll be looking for a triple too, since my 3 yo has a heart condition and I'd rather she ride than stride because she tires easily.

I called around for a quad stroller when pg w/#4 and my eldest was newly 4yo. I wish I'd bought it. Even now I would love to have a triple stroller even though my 3 youngest are 4 and under, not 3 and under. I don't know that I could fit a huge stroller in my van, though so that is a consideration. I'd say if you have the room and the $, go for it!

VERY cautiously expecting after two losses early 2013. Hoping and praying my Valentine's Day due date baby sticks this time.

I was kinda hoping for more feedback but that's okay.

I talked to one of Nathan's therapists and told her that I was thinking of getting a bigger stroller, when I said Quad...she said Oh good, I was hoping you would say that!

I asked DH (the man who turned me down when I wanted a Triple last yr when the twins were 20 mths old) and he said we definitely NEED at least a triple because of Nathan. I feel better knowing that I'm not the only one thinking this. Even if others who don't know us look at me funny for having a 3 yr old in a stroller, the people who have been out and about with us know that it is necessary for safety.

Thanks to those who replied!
