Do your families do anything special? Any traditions?
This is my most favorite time of year.
We always host the big dinners. I refuse to transport everyone to another's house.

I like to keep it simple, I am not a big fan of "blow-out" holidays. I like to stay home, enjoy the kids, hang out and have fun with them.

We go to the inlaws house for Thanksgiving. We will stay over night one night and come home. We stay home for Christmas. I try to keep it calm and quiet. We do an awesome tradition for the Advent time up to Christmas. We read one book (there are 3 in the series) each year. Each night has a cliff hanger until the end. Then we pray and sing songs together. It is the best thing we have done for 6 years!

We are constantly on the run. No ones cares if we have one child or one hundred they expect us to be EVERYWHERE!!! That four different family christmas's plus our own.

Who am I kidding, I LOVE it!

As far as traditions, we don't do anything out of the ordinary.

We try not to make it too big, because our 5 year old is autistic, so alot going on doesn't mesh so well with her. But, we've had as many as 30 people for dinner. Ahh..this year, I said only immediate family. I love being around everyone, but it's just so much and I'd rather enjoy my kids than worry about others.
we don't do so much for Thanksgiving in the way of traditions, but we'll all go out and cut down the tree. We'll all decorate, make cookies..the usual thing. We'll go Christmas light looking. It's all so exciting!! I'm like a little kids when it comes to the holidays.

I love Christmas too. I host Thanksgiving. It's not my favorite but I think of it is the first official day of the Christmas season

The week before Christmas we celebrate Yule with my sisters, BIL, brother and SIL and nephew. Nothing too exciting.

For Christmas we are going to my best friends for Christmas Eve and then we'll drive around, look at lights, and send the kids to bed. Christmas morning it's just DH, the kids, my mom and me. Maybe my sister will stop by for dinner. My mom always wants to have this big Christmas dinner even though it's just us. It usually causes a disagreement... does that count as a tradition?

At some point we have to figure out when to see my ILs in NY and my ILs in PA. I love visting the ILs in NY, we usually see them in January. My ILs in PA are another story and we don't know when we will see her. She is the Grinch. No, she's worse than the Grinch because she wants to act like the Grinch and yet expects you to kiss her butt?? Dread. I dread that weekend when we go visit.
