Would you ever let your daughter get her belly button pierced?

If you would - what age would she have to be?

My dd has been asking me since before Christmas. I said NO without even thinking twice. She keeps asking. (She will be 16 in April) Still saying no. Her argument is many of her friends have theirs pierced. Am I a prude?? LOL

Sure thing, she can pierce whatever she wants...................the second she turns 18 and moves out.

Yep, 18 and no longer lives under my roof, enjoy.

Those were the rules when I grew up in regards to piercing anything but the ear lobes and tattoos. A week after I moved away from home, I got a tattoo

Have you used the 'If your friends jumped off a bridge, are you going to follow too' line yet? LOL

I agree w/ 18! And they better not show it off to me if they do go through w/ it, same w/ a tattoo. I don't want to see it.

I waited 2 weeks before visiting my mother after it was done, which was a good thing.. she followed me around with a wet facecloth trying to wash it off certain that I was kidding and it was washable.

ahhhhhhh haaaaaaa haaaaaaa. I am not paying for it. I won't allow it before 18. No way. I don't even wanna see it after. Better not be walking around in some darn hoochie clothes showing off your belly, not in my house. Ears are one thing, bellies a whole nother.

Earrings draw attention to your face. Bellybutton rings draw attention to your crotch. No way. My girls can do so when they are old enough to sign for it, drive themselves and pay for it, but I hope they won't.

I dont' know I had my done at 17, I did it myself with a safety pin because my parents wouldn't sign. I feel differently about belly button piercings than I do tattoos if you want to take your piercing out you can but you cant wipe off a tattoo.

I would agree for the most part about a tattoo, but since art/graphic design was my thing, I find some body art, in moderation, quite lovely. I have a few and will eventually be getting more. That being said, I have one on my right upper arm, but the rest are my upper back (shoulder height) so they can't even be seen unless I wear summer tops that are spaghetti strings - which means they cannot be seen in a professional environment so no-one knows I even have them

It was on a commercial for a tv show- George Lopez or grounded for life or something like that. Can't take credit. But it was funny and accurate!

John says he'd rather let her get a piercing than a tattoo at age 16. Um, I'm torn on this. I guess it depends on how well she took care of her ears after they were pierced. I'm not taking care of a naval ring and I don't want to pay for it either. I got mine done when I was 25 but I don't think a 16 year old is ready for a belly ring.
