Hello ladies! My name is Marie. I think I'm close to qualifying for this board now, lol! After TTC with infertility for nearly 6 years now I have: Nolan bio son 39 months, adopted twins Arthur and Theodore 11 months, and now their bio sister Elizabeth 21 months is coming for a "visit" for three weeks while their parents get divorced with some question about potential guardianship to us. She'll be here on Saturday and we'll take her back on Feb 5th before we leave for vacation. I'm not too scared of the four kids I work full time from home, dh is a paramedic working 60 hour weeks, we have no family nearby. Our biggest adjustment was from going from one child, to premature twins-we're both confident that we'll handle #4, temporarily or permanently. I have a Dodge Caravan and squeezed a 4th carseat into it today, I'm keeping her RF until she's 2 anyhow. We'll use ds1's toddler bed for her, she's coming with diapers, we'll use his old booster seat for meals-I think we're set!

Now, any tips on coping with four born within 29 months?

Congratulations! Best wishes on the bio-sister and whatever comes of that. I can't stress strongly enough that the key is consistency and routine. Meals, outings, bedtimes, should be kept as regular as possible. I advise being pretty strict on all of them, but mostly on Nolan. I say this because I think the first one sets the line. As crazy as you let him be, the rest will follow. And conversely, if you keep him in line, the rest will follow. That isn't doctrine, though, just a rule of thumb.

Good luck and stick around. You will learn a lot here!

Thank you ladies! Farmerswife-Nolan has been on a pretty tight routine for most/all of his life Our routine is very consistent, even with the twins, with some variations to keep them all on track. I'm just hoping this little girl has also had a good routine, but I figure she's young enough that it won't take long to slip her into our lifestyle, of course accomodating for her individual needs, too. Its really weird, I wanted a baby for so long, and I was jealous and kind of angry with moms with more than one or two kids, somehow thinking that their kids weren't loved as much-does this sound weird? Jealousy and longing really mess with your mind. But with my own three, each of them already knows how much they're loved, they all have special quality time with mommy and daddy, and I know this little girl will, too-irregardless of how long she is here. I'm probably not making any sense. I now admire moms with large families; I've always secretly wanted 6 babies since I was five years old, since we're ntnp, you never know what we might end up with, lol!

Hey Marie, that is awesome. I understand the emotions before you had your children.

Then you are on a good track. That will work well when the girl comes. They do conform to your expectations. Keep up the good work!
