I save them for way too long and then eventually, years later, I throw them in the rag bin.

I have a drawer in my dresser for the singles. Every few weeks, I pull them all out for a Singles Night and do a little matchmaking. Those who remaine single longer than few months get thrown away. Ruthless, I know.

We have a sock basket that all the socks get tossed into. Then once a month I match socks and the unmatched ones stay in the basket for WAY to long before I give up and trash them.

Yep, same here. Then after I throw away the singles I usually find their mate hidden in a toy box or under a dresser. Never fails

The kids take care of their own laundry so I don't know what they do if they have single socks. I know if I see a sock of theirs with a hole I will throw it away. I keep track of my socks and the 3 years olds.

I use them for other things. Or I'll throw them away.

I put uncooked rice in a sock and tie it off. Makes a great ice/heat pack.

I keep one in the freezer. Just throw it in the micro for about 20 seconds and it's nice and hot.

I also will put dry lavander in a sock and tie it off. I Have several that I'll hand out to kids that 'can't go to sleep' and tell them to play with it in bed. They are usually out like a light in about 5 minutes after that. lol
