It has been a year since Nathan was diagnosed with mod to severe autism. He has improved so much in that time and I am so proud of him!

He just turned 3 last month. He is still mostly non-verbal but he is learning to talk with the help of his intense 30 hour a week therapy program.

Just this past week he has been completing 100 piece jigsaw puzzles without any help. It amazes me to watch and I truly believe that he is a gifted visual thinker.

Thanks for letting me share - this past year has been a roller coaster of emotions for my husband and I, but I think we finally feel at ease with Nathan's diagnosis. I love my little man so much !

Oh hun I totally understand! :hugs: We don't have dx's and may not even pursue them, but I'm familiar with wanting to know what's going on and the things that bother your mind in the meantime.

Congratulations on knowing your child - not everyone does! Great job, mama! Keep at it, day by day, and all will be well.

That's great that he is doing so well! I know what a roller coaster ride it can be but you are a super mom for doing what is best for your son!

One of my really good friend's son is autistic and I know how she struggles with things at times. But he is such a sweet boy and always makes me smile.

Thanks for sharing with us!

Wow! I agree, I think he's gifted too!

I'm glad that you are finding peace. Thanks for sharing

On a side note -- I didn't realize until now that Nathan and Reagan were the same age as Lucas! He turned three Jan. 7th.

Nathan is such a cutie...I've enjoyed hearing about his progress! I'm amazed with how much you get done with those kiddos...you may just be the only person I know with (soon to be) four kids closer in age than mine.

Ah thanks Claire!

But I always thought you were super mom. I remember some of the first posts I read from you when I joined JM. You had that adorable siggy with the kids in those colorful sweaters sitting on a rock formation....I'm not a stalker LOL you just amazed me from day one.

I'm pretty sure that MarieJ takes the cake on closely spaced kids. But you did it with 4 singleton pregnancies so I consider that pretty darn tough.
