Does your DH spend much time just him and all the kids at once? If so, how do they usually spend their time?

My dh doesn't do much with all of them at once. My teen doesn't like to hang out with her parents ~ so she doesn't hang out with him at all. He is good at hanging out with the boys, and he might take them to Home Depot with him or work together on whatever project he might be on.

Usually he spends time playing with the kids in the house while I get some shopping done.

He has only taken them all out by himself once since Riley was born - that was a trip to Toys R US and then McDonalds.

he'll usually volunteer to take the two toddlers uptown, but not much into staying home with the four of them; he'll do it if I have appts, but he needs me home quickly right after-sometimes I just need a break knowing that they're home safe with a parent!

DH is home every day with the kids - we work opposite shifts so we don't have to put the kids in daycare. He is great with all of them - sometimes they all go out and other times he'll just take the older set while the younger ones are napping.

He spends as much time as possible doing stuff with them. He works a lot so his time with them is limited. He does projects with the boys. Building, fixing, yard work and so on. Our oldest dd12yo he will take advantage of any opportunity to be involved with her for example she had a cooking assignment for school that he helped her with. I usually do that but he happened to be available so..
He also went on craigslist and found some battery powered vehicles so he's been teaching them to drive, well the younger ones anyway. dd12yo he's teaching to drive using the lawnmower, in tractor mode.

Dh will watch the 3 kids so I can go grocery shopping as long as I don't leave until they are about an hour from bedtime. He'll take the boys to the park, but leaves Aly home. He has NEVER taken all 3 of them out anywhere by himself.

We have horses, and they are dh's thing, so he rides horses with them, now that the youngest is a bit older he will go ride out in our field with all 5 of them occasionally, he rides with the older 2 when he can. He used to be the one to take them skiing too (when the younger ones were too little) but we all go now.

dh has never had all 7 of them I always either have the baby or am just going to pick up one of the older girls from an after school thing and he watches the ones that are home.
He does quite a bit of one on one or two on one. His job allows him to bring one or two of the kiddos in for a little while and they work with daddy. He coaches soccer, basketball or t-ball when he can, and he goes to practices when he is able. He also plays video games with Thayer. He works 50-60 hours a week in a restaurant so he is gone when the kiddos are home but he tries to spend as much time as he can with them.
